12oz bottle. Pours a dark, cola-brown color; thin, light-tan head with patchy lacing; looks good at first pour, then fades. Basic, balanced aroma of cola, lightly roasted malts, and some oily nuttiness; a simple cereal core. Medium mouthfeel: this beer really takes off in the mouth, with a nice show of mineral bitterness, oily nuts / peanut character, and medium-roast malts; lively carbonation, zesty with a solid coffee-tinged acidity on the perimeter, this is a hugely drinkable, satisfying porter once you get past first appearances; really solid rendition with zesty bitterness. Medium finish, ending with light mineral bitterness and roasted, oily peanuts.

Bottle from Regionals (brown label? the pic’s is blue). Pours red/black, tan head.
Aroma is quite roasty, with chocolate and plum like fruit. Hop aroma is significant. Roasty flavour, chocolate/coffee with some pepper, mild bitterness. Hops show quite nicely near the finish, and last on the palate. Hoppier than your standard porter, quite nice.

Sierra Nevada scores again with another supurb effort. Pours an almost blackish red. Roasted coffe beans on the nose. Smooth, enjoyable ride on the palate. No bitterness or aftertaste. Just a solid effort.

12 oz from Joe Canals in Delran NJ. A dark dark red. A nice spicy flavor. Not the best porter out there, but definitely above average.

Bottled, 350ml from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Oxon. Black with ruby hue, creamy head. Dark roasty notes right from the off, earthy and coffee husk. A little burnt and bitter but with a background sweetness and carbonation. Decent enough Porter.

35cl bottle: The aroma yields a good dose of dark chocolate malts, coffee roastiness and a light ale fruitiness, supported by lightly earthy/spicy hops. A bit of black pepper too - nice and rich! Deep brown with an off-white, creamy head. The flavour is a bit less exciting: Primarily spicy, with notes of coffee, nuts and bitter chocolate. A slight astringency from the roasted malt. The carbonation is a bit too fizzy for my liking, but I like em smooth I guess. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium. I’d definitely have that one again.

Dark black with brown tints at the sides. Appearance is pretty good with a fluff of coffee-colored head. The smell was instant roast. The taste was light, roasty, some hops, good mouthfeel, delicious. Wow, there are some coffee flavors! This is another fine beer from Sierra Nevada. I have got to get to Chico and check this place out. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-20-2007 14:43:53

12 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and dark fruit, some coffee notes as well. Full body. Coffee, roasted malt, and some dark fruit on the palate. Finish is medium and bitter. I guess there can not be a bad beer from SN.
