IlanMan (530), Winona, Minnesota, USA May 16, 2008 Pour is dark with a fluffy tan head. Aroma is of burnt malt and light hops. Flavor is a malty with some burntness in the finish as well as a little chocolate and toffee. Good Brew porter but probably not one of the best. Maybe one of the middle line brews. Not worth a second buy. Enjoy is for the first time but the second will not be as good.
Beerman6686 (724), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 5, 2008 Poured a very dark brown woth a light tan head. Aroma was a bit mild and drawn back, but contains roasted malts, light chocolate, and some hops. Flavor is also subdued, decent blend of sweet chocolate, roastiness and hops, but too watery. Pershing (83), Garland, Texas, USA Sep 4, 2008 I’m not going to compare this beer to vegatables or coffee drinks. This is a wonderful porter with an excellent frothy head and full of character. American brewers produce the finest porters in the World and this one is at the top of the list. timsilvia32 (204), born in Michigan, North Carolina, USA Aug 28, 2008 Updated: Aug 31, 2008Solid brown pour, cream colored head. Smells roasty malt and nut. Roasted malts, cocoa, coffee, but Is not real pronounced in any of it’s characteristics, roast malt stands out the most. Maybe a bit too much hop character and carbonation for the style. Seems like I used to be more fond of this one. mekju_baksa (9), Houston, Texas, USA does not count Aug 28, 2008 Strong malt notes with nice hints of coffee and a full body. Enjoyed this one with a spicy goat cheese pizza... provided for a nice balance. Lovely black velvet colouring. Looking forward to trying this one again. Avatar (73), Gliwice, Poland Aug 22, 2008 Bottle from Seqoia Park. 21/08/2008. Pours black lightly carbonated. Roasted malt aroma. Some chocolate. Little bit to sour and too sour for porter. Not as good as as Zywiec Porter.
