Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. The color is a dark black with almost no light being let through. There is about two fingers of foamy light brown head with some nice lacing left on the glass. The smell is a slight bit roasty with some malty flavor amid some slight nut flavor. The taste is some what coffee in flavor, some nice roasted malt and toffee flavor. The feel of this beer is pretty light for a porter but is still medium bodied.

12 oz. bottle from Ludlow Wines. Pours an opaque dark brown color, near black, with a medium tan head that leaves spotty lace. Aroma of roasted malt, molasses, nuts, and coffee- not as strong as I’d like. Flavor is balanced and muted- chocolate, caramel, and dark malts, wood, toast, earthy notes, and a hint of hops. Lighter in both nose and flavor than expected, but so soft and smooth. Because of the lovely texture, this one is really easy and nice to drink. I just wish there were more to it. Medium bodied, with a soft, roasty finish.

Very dark beer with a tan head and a toasty, bready nose. The head was gone within a few minutes. It had the chocolaty taste I enjoy in a porter and I thought it was well balanced with the hops all the way through the finish. The label on my bottle was brown, while the one in the photo is blue.

Pours a very dark ruby, moderate lace - nose of cocoa, vanilla, minerals, a touch of roast - full, somewhat creamy carbonation - medium dry, with a strong combination of roasty character, black malt bitterness, and hops - develops a bit of a chalky texture through the middle - finishes with faint dark fruit and lingering bitterness.

From a 12 oz bottle this Porter pours a clear, dark brown, near black body with an tan head. Aroma has a roasty nose smelling of coffee and notes of unsweetened chocolate earthy hops and malt. Taste is mostly roasty and bitter, caramel malts, chocolate malts, and nuts. Very little sweetness which rapidly fades, leaving the roast, earthy bitterness with a dry, roasty finish. Medium-bodied mouthfeel and carbonation. Just a bit on the thin and basic side for a great porter in my opinion - so I would have to rank this one as average.

Appearance: Raspberry, small white head. Aroma: Peat, hay, damp malt, smoke, burned rubber? Flavour: Burnt malt, plastic, long hay finish. Hmm

12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium dark beige head, with attractive and extensive lacing, over a clear light brown (SRM 25) body.....nose is light coffee, bit of chocolate, light grass......taste is sweet malt (toffee, caramel), then light bitterness.....mouth feel is medium, carbonation makes a creamy sensation. This has a slightly light malt backbone, but is a pleasant and reasonably balanced beer.

It poured a pitch black liquid with a smalllight brown foam. Smell and taste of chocolate and coffee. Light body and low bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel.
