| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2009 12-oz bottle. Toasty aroma with some hints of prune and bread. Dark brown color with reddish cast. Stiff brown head with legs. Bitter and mildly sweet at first. Bitterness mellows and then deepens on the finish. Pretty clean however. Medium to light body with some astringence on the front. High drinkability. But an average porter. Duhast500 (201), , Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
The color is a dark black with almost no light being let through. There is about two fingers of foamy light brown head with some nice lacing left on the glass.
The smell is a slight bit roasty with some malty flavor amid some slight nut flavor.
The taste is some what coffee in flavor, some nice roasted malt and toffee flavor.
The feel of this beer is pretty light for a porter but is still medium bodied.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 13, 2009 12 oz. bottle from Ludlow Wines. Pours an opaque dark brown color, near black, with a medium tan head that leaves spotty lace. Aroma of roasted malt, molasses, nuts, and coffee- not as strong as I’d like. Flavor is balanced and muted- chocolate, caramel, and dark malts, wood, toast, earthy notes, and a hint of hops. Lighter in both nose and flavor than expected, but so soft and smooth. Because of the lovely texture, this one is really easy and nice to drink. I just wish there were more to it. Medium bodied, with a soft, roasty finish. taphandle (33), Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 9, 2009 Very dark beer with a tan head and a toasty, bready nose. The head was gone within a few minutes. It had the chocolaty taste I enjoy in a porter and I thought it was well balanced with the hops all the way through the finish. The label on my bottle was brown, while the one in the photo is blue.
