CaptainCougar (4599), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 10, 2008 Transparent copper bronze with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of fairly fresh grassy piny hops and some black peppery notes and lightly sweet malt. Body starts with decent fullness and crisp bittering hop character before a peppery earthy bittersweet finish. A pretty unique hop character.
Hophead22 (78), Redlands, California, USA Jul 17, 2008 Bomber. Nice amber pour, seems a little dark for an IPA, but who cares, it looks good. Nice big fluffy white head. A little hop kick in the first sip, muted a bit afterward, very good though. Good flavor the whole way. Hops do stick to your tongue, but in a good way. Nice brigg (112), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jul 17, 2008 (bottle) A bright and clear red-amber body with tiny bubbles floating up to a big, rocky off-white head. Hop aroma is very floral - pine, flowers, honey - and has some spiciness, too. Medium to full bodied; soft and thick. Lots of hops, but it does taste fresh and warm. Bitterness is masked a little in the front by the body and carbonation, but the bitterness really comes through in the end and aftertaste. One of my most favorite "hoppy" beers, I think. cryfreedmb (95), Ocean, New Jersey, USA Jul 17, 2008 Pour from 24oz bottle. Beautiful pour of golden orange with a perfect off white head. Nice aroma of floral hops. Awesome flavor. It’s of floral hops with a nice malt backround. Flavor lingers on the tongue. Very smooth and drinkable. Not as intense as I thought it would be. Overall, an excellent brew. grimreeser (611), Minnesota, USA Jul 17, 2008 Pours amber with a nice size head. Aroma of floral and citrus hops. Sharp bitterness. Solid. kseecs16 (472), Westmont, Illinois, USA Jul 17, 2008 Bottle. I really enjoyed this brew and it was nice to try something from SN that broke out of their traditional hop profile. Aroma was soapy floral hops with sugary malt notes. Light amber in color, darkening towards the center of the glass. Medium head with lots of lacing, off-white in color. Sweet and full hoppy flavor, not too intense with a nice floral overtone. Lingers dry on the palate and feels creamy with a medium body.
