Commercial Description:
This ale marks our journey to the only place on the planet where fresh hops are harvested in our spring, the Southern Hemisphere. Our task was daunting-we needed to get the hops picked, dried, flown halfway across the world and into our brew kettle in a little over a week's time. The result is a North-by-South fusion of fresh New Zealand hops blended with the finest North American malts. Its robust hop character presents an intriguing floral-citrus aroma leading to layers of fresh-hop spiciness. Enjoy!

Pours copper, with a nice off white head, great lace. Nose of hops, citrus, pine, some floral notes, caramel. Taste is similar, the sweetness got me first, citrus notes as well as some caramel, then a hoppy bitter finish. Hops are very present, but more subdued compared to imperial/double ipa’s. An extremely enjoyable IPA that you can’t go wrong with.

Bottle at The Rake. Amber with a small white head. Fruity aroma with especially black currant and peach. Sweet and fruity flavour with a nice, hop bitter finish.

Same numbers, same notes on cask at GBBF.

2009 bottle. Pours a burnt orange colour with a large gray/green coloured head. Very nice lacing. The aroma is quite intensely hoppy. Citrus, pine and floral notes with a hint of sweet caramel malt. The taste is really quite nice. A bitter-sweet explosion. Oranges, grapefruit, pine, resin, caramel, grain, floral notes and a nice rolling bitterness in the finish. Light yet sticky mouth feel. Very enjoyable!

50 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA via Madison, WI. Deep amber, hazy with a clinging latte coloured head. Pleasant hopped aroma, citrus and floral notes. Spicy first sip, then mellowing with subsequent drinking. Cloves mixed with caramel and pepper. Very nice.

Foggy amber color with off white average head. Smells citrusy and pine resin. Didn’t expect the big hop flavor. Citrus flavors and a sweetness in there too. Gald I picked it up.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Clear deep amber color, small off-white head, some lace. Sweaty hoppy, grapefruity aroma. Piney, fruity, also a bit woody flavor. Grassy, a bit harsh hop profile.

Cask@GBBF, 2009. Bronze beer with a lightly malty aroma, and a thickly hopped and lightly malty flavour. Overall an average but nice well hopped beer.

Bottled. Orangeish amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is quite rich on fruity hops and some slightly flowery and earthy notes as well. Flavour is pleasantly the same. Rather sweet, but at the same time quite bitter.
