Commercial Description:
This ale marks our journey to the only place on the planet where fresh hops are harvested in our spring, the Southern Hemisphere. Our task was daunting-we needed to get the hops picked, dried, flown halfway across the world and into our brew kettle in a little over a week's time. The result is a North-by-South fusion of fresh New Zealand hops blended with the finest North American malts. Its robust hop character presents an intriguing floral-citrus aroma leading to layers of fresh-hop spiciness. Enjoy!

Bottle. 24 oz. 2009. Medium amber body with a large, frothy, off-white head that slowly diminished. The aroma if full of orange, citrus, toasted grain and hay. Hint of caramel. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Long, bitter aftertaste. Medium body with a rich, velvety texture and lively carbonation. Enough of a malty backbone to the lingering bitter taste to keep this from being totally a hop bomb. But it’s close.

Cask at the White Horse, Parsons Green, 3rd July 09. Amber, persistent white head. Very hoppy aroma, standard palate and lots of fresh hop flavours on the tongue.

Cask at American beer fest White Horse London. An amber coloured IPA with a decent head. Nice hoppy aroma. Fruity, hoppy and refreshing. Quite well balanced.

2009: Pours an amber orange with bubbley 1 inch white-orange head that settles to a thick froath. Smell of citrus (lemon-lime), little earthy pine, and malts. Tastes of sweet sticky citri-hops, little caramel, more malt than I expected, long bitter aftertaste. Decent, would buy again - next year.

24oz bottle: Pours a clear orange with red notes under a large fluffy white head, aroma has pine, sweet earthy tones, and oranges, medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel, starts and ends bitter with a long bitter aftertaste. Another winner from Sierra Nevada.

Got this at Sunset Bar & Grille in Boston. Medium amber with a fluffy white head. Earthy and wooden hops hit you in the nose. As most SN beers, this one is moderately well-hopped. Some sweet tastes are present throughout. Citrus notes are of course present throughout as well.

24oz bottle from Premier in Buffalo; aroma is a soft hop nose; appearance is a gold amber body with a craggy white foamy head; tonnes of bubbles beading in this one; fine taste with hops clear and throughout, then malt sweetness (maple, vanilla, caramel) evident; palate is on the crisp side, burning almost, but it settles down. Overall, a nice ale...not exactly fitting into the 100 mile diet, but that’s ok.
