Pours a clear copper color with an off white head. Aroma begins with a caramel malt note come through first, a citrus grapefruit and lemon come through in the middle and a light resiny hops note rounds out the aromas. Flavor starts off with a melding of citrus and caramel malts flavors, a very bitter resiny, leafy hops note follows and ends with a very strong grassy-floral flavor. The bitterness really puckers your taste buds with the over abundance of bitterness. Good density and carbonation compliment the flavors and the alcohol flavor comes through pretty good. Overall a very unique hops combo that I think would get better with just a little bit of aging. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA

Amber in color. Looks like my ideal IPA. Average caramel malt aroma. Heavy hops - floral, pine, citrus, wood. Medium body, slightly creamy. Average carbonation with a crisp, bitter finish. Very nice lacing. Overall this beer has fantastic hop flavor and aroma without being out of balance. Avoids being overly perfumeyQuite refreshing, actually. Nose is citrus-floral (just like the commercial description promises). Taste is bursting with woody/piney hop flavor, with notes of fruit and spice. Finish is classic hoppy American IPA. The appearance is amber with a large foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma with a bitter finish. The palate is smooth. Overall a good beer and a good example of the style. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Pours an orange copper color with a decent head. The aroma is a little fresh but not as much as I anticipated but still good. Definitely a good hop-malt balance going on with a slight citrusy & pine grass taste. Left a pretty good lacing on the glass. Will buy it again before I can’t get any till next year HOPSHUNTER (389), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Bottle. Poured a clear, deep , copper color with a thick, dense egg-shell head. Lots of hops in the nose also some spice and fruit, no grapefruit though which is refreshing for an American IPA. Medium bodied with a smooth, round mouthfeel. Big hoppy, spicy flavor well balanced with semi-sweet caramel malt backbone. Finishes sweet and slightly bitter. Very nice!
