Commercial Description:
This ale marks our journey to the only place on the planet where fresh hops are harvested in our spring, the Southern Hemisphere. Our task was daunting-we needed to get the hops picked, dried, flown halfway across the world and into our brew kettle in a little over a week's time. The result is a North-by-South fusion of fresh New Zealand hops blended with the finest North American malts. Its robust hop character presents an intriguing floral-citrus aroma leading to layers of fresh-hop spiciness. Enjoy!

24 ounce bottle ("2nd Release") from South Bay Drugs ($5.99). Pours a clear and deep amber color that is quite pretty. Two full fingers of off-white head with moderate staying power. Aroma is spicy hops and some earthy flowers with much less of the citrus tones that I am accustomed to in US West Coast IPAs. Basically the same can be said of the flavor which has a noticeable sharp spiciness along with some pine and other "green" and fresh hoppy flavors. But not as much citurs and floral as most of the West Coast IPAs. Rather light bodied with moderate bitterness in the finish. A little different and pretty good.

24 oz 2008 bottle via Hagen. Pours a semi-hazy copper with an average to large head. Nose is a mix of herbal and fruity hops. Taste is herbal and spicy hops with a bit of noble character and a little pine and some crustal malts in the background.. Medium bottle, a bit of an orange-peal bitterness in the aftertaste, bordering on metallic but not quite. Gets better after a few drinks. WOuld love to have tried this fresh a few months ago. Nice late spring beer on this 78 degree Oregon day. Me like.

Bottle. Pours clear amber/orange with medium off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is sweet and floral with some citrus notes. Flavor is bitter citrus hops in the front well balanced with nutty and caramel malts in the back of the pallet. Finishes leaving slight bitterness, but mostly clean.

Burnished orange pour and nice foam finishing to a refined gossamer head. The nose is something odd, a very muted hop spice and sweet malt. Not as fresh or aggresive as other fresh hops. These hops have been dried before their journey. Palate wakes up the drinker as a wall of citrusy hops smacks the tongue and a wave of pale malt folllows in chorus. Very nice texture for an IPA, silky but firm. Noble hop bitterness and new world hop fruit rounds the beer out into a clean and seductive brew. Loses points for the nose, gains for balance and appetizing finish. 90

A nice looking amber-copper beer with a decent off-white head that leaves lace. Aroma is vaguely hoppy, citrus and a little floral, but not too strong. Flavor is a grassy hops, a hint of caramel malt, and ends solidly bitter. Syrupy mouthfeel. I was expecting much more hops in the aroma and flavor.

Pours golden amber with a reddish color and half an inch of head to start off. Light to medium bodied. On the aroma I get hops a hint of citrus. On the palate I get hops upfront a bitter tast on the finish with a very subtle hint of citrus in there. Awesome brew. Nice head retention and great lacing of the glass.

Bottle from La Bodega in Riverside...Pours copper with a red orange tint, creamy off white head...Smell is very faint. A little bit of caramel and a light hop aroma.. Very nice malty sweetness with a nice lingering citrusy hop bitterness. A little bit on the thick side, the same way I like my women.. Very tasty!
