Commercial Description:
This ale marks our journey to the only place on the planet where fresh hops are harvested in our spring, the Southern Hemisphere. Our task was daunting-we needed to get the hops picked, dried, flown halfway across the world and into our brew kettle in a little over a week's time. The result is a North-by-South fusion of fresh New Zealand hops blended with the finest North American malts. Its robust hop character presents an intriguing floral-citrus aroma leading to layers of fresh-hop spiciness. Enjoy!

Bottle... Poured a burn orange with a thick white head, nice lacing and nice retention. Floral aroma but not as vibrant of the North American fresh hop beers around the fall season. Thick, highly carbonated and dry palate. Citrusy and floral hops with a simple malt balance. A little earthy and woodsy-like.

Bottle from Kellys Liquors Eubank. Doesn’t taste particularly fresh to me. Most fresh-hop beers seem to be made with hops that are three hours old rather than the 10-12 that I bet these were. Nose is a nice mild hop with certain lightly spiced malt. Flavor is much the same, but with a definite orange peel quality to it, keeping both bitterness and malt at bay.

Pours a deep amber with good head that retains. The hop aromas are strong on the nose with a light hint of the malt. The hops are very pronounced but tapers off to some malt with a strong hop finish on the tongue. It has a good level of carbonation and with the foam makes for a nice mouthfeel.

Bottle. Poured a nice amber with a thick white head, good lacing. Aroma is very hoppy with malts coming through. Notes of citrus, pine, grass, and alcohol stand out as well. On the pallet, the feel is crisp and refreshing. The flavor brings out the malts, but the hops come back in the finish. This beer is very balanced and very refreshing.

Bottle shared with friend. Very nice aroma with succulent hops galore. Flavor is nice and crisp with the grapefruit and citrus aftertaste. An excellent beer and one that could be used to introduce people into this style.

Another great IPA from Sierra Nevada. It starts with a very inviting aroma of sticky hops, earth, grass and wood. The beer pours a dark golden color with a big white head. The head leaves a nice amount of lacing around the glass. The body was extremely smooth and drinkable. Flavors consisted of spicy hops, earth, grapefruit, pine and a touch of breadiness. The finish features more spicy hoppiness and a bit of a dry tone.

2nd release. Floral hop notes in the aroma. Floral flavor with possibly some citrus fruits. Enjoyable.
