aroma: wildflowers, sour apple, grass, herbs.
appearance: clear gold, frothy head.
flavor: sharp-bitter fading to smooth-sweet, with more bitter emerging in the aftertaste. lime, arugula, honey, and a vague hint of corn (in a good way).
I like to imagine those brave, adventurous brewers who flew down to N.Z. (dressed in hops-green camouflage) and seized the precious harvest, fighting off angry natives and wild animals to bring these fresh nuggets back to Cali -- just in time to throw them into the kettle! Wow, if they ever made an action movie about a beer, this would be a great subject. Chipper (186), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA

It exhibits outstanding retentiong and leaves outstanding lacing. It has a fresh, spicy hop aroma of pine and orange peel and perhaps some mint. It has a smooth medium body with a clean finish. It is well bittered and well balanced. The full hop flavor echoes the notes of the aroma. The malt is biscuity. Man, this is so good-- I love Sierra Nevada! brewski519 (424), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2009 From a 24 oz bottle at the World Beer Festival in Raleigh NC this gem from Sierra Nevada poured a hazy orange color with a foamy head. Aroma of hops, citrus and flowers. A nice hoppy grapefruit flavor provides this IPA with another great brew in the Sierra Nevada line-up. Carbonation is just right and the finish dry and bitter. I could certainly drink more of this one. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Interesting herbal earthy hop aroma - neat. Taste - hoppy, herbal tea like, almost minty, piney. Medium body, a bit watery. A neat take on an IPA, I liked it. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2009 Orange color and looks about the same as Celebration or the regular Harvest Ale. Nice green hoppy smell. The taste seems to follow with a nice fresh hoppy flavor that is kinda grassy. This is very similar to the other Harvest Ale which I happen to prefer.
