Commercial Description:
This ale marks our journey to the only place on the planet where fresh hops are harvested in our spring, the Southern Hemisphere. Our task was daunting-we needed to get the hops picked, dried, flown halfway across the world and into our brew kettle in a little over a week's time. The result is a North-by-South fusion of fresh New Zealand hops blended with the finest North American malts. Its robust hop character presents an intriguing floral-citrus aroma leading to layers of fresh-hop spiciness. Enjoy!

24oz bottle shared at the Houston BA Tasting. Pours a cloudy orange with off-white head. Nose is citrus and caramel. Taste is the same with some earthiness to it. Mouthfeel was thin and only mildly bitter.

pours a muddy light brown with a large head that sticks around for a while A good grapefruit like nose, with a bite to it. It has a very smooth taste with a little aftertaste to it. it has a good crisp bitterness to it, that hangs around for a while

Poured a nice bright amber golden orange with a faint whiff of pine and hay. Flavour was smooth and slightly spiced. Had some interesting characteristics going on within the palate but strangely, I got quite full while drinking my first pint and couldn’t finish the rest. This is not bad, but I had a hard time distinguishing it from SN’s other beers.

Pours copper with an off white head. Smells resiny and spicy with some earthy undertones. Tastes of lots of resiny hints up front with a great balance of tea and earthiness. Another great one from this brewery!

Tasted somewhere along my trip through the States.
I’ve had the 2008 version. Nice hopped brew. Spicy, hoppy and malty. Enjoyable.

moderately hazy copper to orange with a rocky eggshell head. slight orange, apple and grassy straw over a toasted, caramel sweetness leaps out in the nose. crisp bitterness on the back of the tongue, with a lightly toasted biscuit malt to back it up. finishes tangy grapefruit with a bit of alcohol warmth.

Bottle (24oz). 2008 vintage. Pours a clear orange-amber with a large mostly-lasting foamy off-white head, at first, but after pouring the rest of the bottle it becomes cloudy with little floaties. Nice lacing. Aroma of resiny hops, citrus fruit and bready malt. Flavour of resiny hops well balanced by the malt along with herbs & spices and a decent dry bitter finish. Medium bodied. A little simplistic in my opinion, I preferred the ’Sierra Nevada Harvest’, it seemed to have more going for it. But this is still a very good beer, enjoyable and easy to drink.

Bottle. Off-white, somewhat frothy head, slowly diminishes w/ fair lacing. Light amber w/ a little haziness Pleasant aroma of grapefruit and pine w/ a detectable note of cereal to bring in the malt. Sweet stickiness on the lips hints at a hefty brew, but it turns out to be medium bodied. Hop bitterness is complex w/ lots of spicy, floral notes: black pepper and honeysuckle. Finish is dry, peppery, and woody (oak) - great stuff.
