Ungstrup (11398), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 25, 2004 A pitch black beer with a chocolate brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted bread and chocolate. The flavor is lovely: sweet malty with loads of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee.
CanIHave4Beers (216), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Oct 13, 2008 Very roasty and hoppy, a nice clean tasting stout that has a hop heavy aroma and a espresso color with a nice tan head that leave plenty of lace. The stout is very easy drinking, and delicous. 502Flavors (284), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 11, 2008 12 oz bottle into pint glass. Near black pour with reddish hue and a huge creamy lacing dirty tan head (really remarkable head). The aroma was good and roasty, creamy and hoppy. The flavor was very nice and simple - roasty, hoppy, and almost a bit smokey. Meidum bodied and smooth (and a bit watery) on the palate. Overall: very solid (I can’t get over the beauty of the head). bee__R (44), Cantù, Italy Oct 6, 2008 33 cl bottle from the renewed beeshop in Como. Deep black beer with a creamy tan thick head. It actually represents a wonderful example of the style, I’d say medium-high level. A maltry sweet nose, enriched with red fruits notes and liquorice hints in a bitter coffe-like frame. Full body and pleasant carbonation actually match with a roasty bitterness and sweet haloes. Right level of dryness.
mcjay (88), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Oct 4, 2008 Deep amber color, almost black with a very nice, thick tan/brown head. Rich, roasted aroma with a hint of chocolate. Robust and bitter taste with a hoppy bite to it. JCastner (41), New York, USA Oct 3, 2008 Pours black with a slight off white head. Aroma is all roasted coffee. Medium body with dry lingering bitterness. Simple and straightforward.
