Suttree (2265), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA May 12, 2008 Sampled at Raleigh WBF - Brownish Orangey red. Very fresh, grassy hoppy aroma - kinda floral, perfumey hoppy. Flavor is sticky, grapefruity hops, as might be expected. Nicely bracing bitter throughout, kinda like the white part of a lemon peel, in a good way. Very enjoyable.
JCB (847), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 16, 2008 On draft at Tyler’s, Durham, in the fine company of Turdferguson. Nice looking beer, a deep orange with hints of ruby and a moderate carbonation (very little head to speak of). Inviting floral nose, with some sweet malts in there perhaps. I can definitely see how this is an improvisation on Celebration, always a winner in my book. Drinks very easily, nicely hopped and good balance, but the body/palate are too thin for me. I’d have to try this elsewhere, as it may have been this particular keg line. Still and all, a fine brew that went down mighty well. blankboy (2488), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 14, 2008 Draught at Cole’s, Buffalo, NY. Pours a clear deep orange with an average size diminishing creamy white head. Nice hoppy aroma, spicy and fruity and well backed by sweet malt. Pleasant resiny & spicy hop flavour with some fruit, sweet toasty malt and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied. Quite easy to drink -- i really liked this! martinboer (1284), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jul 14, 2008 On tap at White Horse on Parson’s Green. Amber body with nice head. Very hoppy nose. Serious hoppy taste with nice malt tastes too. Good balance. Very good. the_federalist (192), Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA Jul 11, 2008 Draught @ the Flying Saucer, Nashville. Always willing to try a new IPA from SN, but this one tastes like an ESB. The finishing hops are almost undetectable, and the bitterness seems mild to me. All I get is toast and butter from the malt character. Not a bad beer, to be sure, but not what I was expecting. Juancho (166), New York, New York, USA Jul 11, 2008 Draught @ The Raging Burrito.
Translucent, filtered amber, nice aroma of citrusy hops, thinning almost completely nonexistent head. Drinks easily, it’s like their Sierra Nevada Ale only better. Not a lot of personality but a good solid brew.
