Smell is of piny hops. This was a very piny IPA. Decent amount of malt in the background but the hops were meant to be the superstar of this beer. I prefer my IPA’s a little more balanced, but this was by no means a hop bomb. Very good beer and for the price, well worth it. SorenE (119), , New Zealand
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 16, 2009 good IPA, to style. This one has travelled and I suspect the hops have aged a bit, they are not all that strong and there is a tiny bit of cheesiness. I’m liking it never the less. coolbeans22 (9), Teachey, North Carolina, USA does not count | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 14, 2009 I like. For something I can get in any grocery store at any time. . . . Pours nice with a fluffy head. Taste of light pine and overall a not so bad ipa taste. About average for my ipa. jrob21 (1270), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 14, 2009 For mass production and large scale this is a well crafted and nice IPA. Grassy floral aromas with an intense pine flavor. A little sweetness all around. The sticky, resiny, pine flavors come later on the palate but last for a while. Prior to that you get a nice crystal sugar, caramel malt touch. One beer I don’t mind having a whole six pack of. BeerGuyTWMore (48), USA

Aromas of citrus, pine, some malt. Pine flavors dominate along with herbs, citrus (pineapple, lemon) undertones with fair malt back. Long lingering bitter herb aftertaste stef92 (67), Williamstown, New Jersey, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 14, 2009 Pours a deep golden amber into the glass, with a diminished off-white cap that leaves suds lace. The nose is largely of floral and pine. Flavors are crisp, citrusy and nice pine needles throughout. The finish shows forth a Cascade assertive hop, dry but lingering appropriately. The body is substantive but a quaffable mouthfeel ensues. Drinkable and complex, this is a nice top-tier offering from Sierra Nevada. Falls comfortably between an IPA and a IIPA, it’s a great brew. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 13, 2009 First impression is very positive..this is simply a beautiful pour. Murky gold liquid with a very thick white head that sticks around with some thick lacing. Scent is perhaps a bit more subdued than I would prefer but a good scent. Just a tad too quiet. Citrus is the main presence there. Taste is not nearly as reserved, this is a very flavorful IPA, especially in comparison to some others in the style that tend to seem muted next to their big brothers. Citrus and a piney stickyness coat the mouth as this is a rather thick brew for the style, but it certainly works. Very good.
