Jul 20, 2009 Metallic, spicy, somewhat herbal hop aroma that is rather aggressive. Not too malty or sweet, though. Transparent copper body with a medium white head that is long-lasting with nice lacing present. Spicy, hoppy, piney, and peppery. Finishes a bit herbal and bitter. Not too much in the way of hops or balance. Straight forward, but decent.

Jul 20, 2009 Updated: Nov 20, 2009Bottle. Golden body with a white head. The aroma and flavors are average catty hops. Not a big fan of this. It’s like an APA but uses crappy hops. The palate was bitter and average. I don’t understand why people like this one. 6, 3, 5, 3, 11 = 2.8.
Tap. This was sampled at Romans Pub from the ONLY keg to have ever left Sierra Nevada’s premises. The beer pours to a copper body with a thin white head. Awesome lacing up front. The aroma has a subtle bitter grapefruit. The flavor is about the same as the Extra Special Pale, but has a sharper hoppiness/bitterness. The palate is bitter and oily. Not as balanced as the ESP, but still very good.

Jul 19, 2009 Awesome golden amber pour, with a pillowy head that stays for awhile. Good lacing on glass. Aroma is simple citrus, flowers and pine. Taste is precise with the right balance of hop bitterness and sweetness. Very clean and well done IPA.

This India Pale Ale’s enduring resinous and earthy bitterness tends to overshadow its citrusy subtleties and biscuity malt crunch, creating an imbalanced yet engaging hop-happy quencher.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A tower of foam laces atop the translucent orangey amber.
-This could be more aromatic for the style.
-Carbonation is rather effervescent, increasing drinkability.
-The hop signature in the aroma and finish is also quite spicy.

Jul 19, 2009 A really solid, cheap IPA. A bit too workmanlike and not overly hoppy, but enjoyable. Nose was of citrus and pine. Flavour of grass and pine, not too grapefruity. Rather subdued. Mild bitter finish. Very smooth. Easy summer drinking.

Jul 18, 2009 Botle pours a deep golden orange. Nice yellowish sandy colored head. Nice malt and hop medley going on in the aroma. Distinguishable if not powerful citrus and piney hop notes. Modest malt backbone, but does fine as a hop carrier. fair carbonation and a moderate lingering bitterness. Still wish for more hops up front.
