Commercial Description:
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

12 ounce bottle from South Bay Drugs ($1.79). Pours a golden orange color with only a bit of off-white head. Aroma is pine forest and some fruity hop tones, but altogether not very strong like many IPAs. Flavor is similarly toned down. There’s no initial hoppy kick but rather a mellow maltiness is noticeably. But then you’re quickly reminded that this is an IPA as the hops kick in (again pine along with some grapefruit) and it turns bitter. However, it’s somewhat less bitter than many other of the California IPAs. The finish has a persistent lingering bitterness which I like.

Bottle. Pours orange with a cream colored head. Has a skunky hoppy stinky goodness to it. Smells like a hop cone. Tastes like a hop cone too. Watered down though. Lots of bitter right out the gate, and a touch in the aftertaste. But damn delicious.

Pours amber with a big offwhite head. Tastes bready. malty , notes of pine with a sharp dry finish. Very well balanced IPA, bitterness level is upfront but still goes down smoothly. Excellent.

Nice IPA from Sierra... it has the hop character I look for in an IPA. Nice hoppy citrus, pine hop flavor... personally, I would have liked a little less malt character. Excellent on tap, good in the bottle.

Purchased at a new store in Gainesville. Not a strong aroma, but nice. Beautiful amber color with medium bodied head. Nice bitter hoppy, pine flavor, with a nice lingering aftertaste. Overall another great beer from Sierra Nevada.

Bottle. Clear golden pour with alot of rising bubbles and a thick white head. Very nice hop aroma with a taste to match. Some malt sweetness up front with a nice bitter finish, rather nice.
