Slightly hazy copper with a huge frothy off-white head. Great retention and above average lacing. Flavor is also very hoppy mostly with citrus and wine. Also a solid caramel malt base. Medium to full body. A very good IPA for lupomaniacs. Nate (2558), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 10, 2009 From bottle. Juicy pear and apricot nectars, fresh hoppy aroma with light sweet malt. Dark orange-amber clear with foamy off-white lacing head. Medium bodied with medium carbonation and light fizzy burn. Starts lightly sweet with some caramel and malty character. Turns into a good amount of bitterness with some tea-like taste, though not astringent. Fruity tastes, but muted. Sweet on the side of the tongue with light acidity and a good amount of bitter finish. Bitter chalky after. hoppopotamus (187), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2009 A nice orange-amber beer with decent hop haze and a frothy off-white head that does dissipate rather quickly. Aroma is piney and grassy hops. Flavor is hops, somewhat fruitier, a bit citrusy (lemon and grapefruit, there’s a tartness there that goes well with the bitterness), and finishes dry and bitter as hell. It’s like a DIPA without quite as much alcohol. More hoppy than their celebration ale. Not much malt to speak of, but if you like hops you’ll like this beer. gpekar (229), Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jun 10, 2009 Poured a clear amber with a tall creamy off-white head. There was a good amount of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass while I was checking the appearance. There was a good citrus/pine aroma through the thick head. There was a good hop bite right off the bat with a good underneath malt sweetness to soften the hops in the middle, but it rolled again into a strong hop bitter finish. Flavors of pine and grapefruit were there. The bitterness on the finish was like that of eating a grapefruit. The head left very nice lacing. This was like a double IPA in hopiness. Very good!!!!!!! cathcacr (591), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 10, 2009 SN is actually rather seductive with its "Purest of Ingredients" billing on the corner of its label, and it needs to be set aside as much as possible in aspiring towards an impartial rating. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Clear golden with medium white head. Aroma was pretty hoppy and had notes of pine and lemons. Flavour was quite bitter and had quite a few hops and grapefruits. Finished bitter. rabidbarfly (62), London, Surrey, England
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Typical sierra nevada aroma of hops with the double IPA malty nose.
golden brown colour and nicely carbonated. The incedible amount of hops on the palate are well balanced to make this one of the most drinkable double ipa’s around.

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Bottle. Boring review for a less than impressive beer. I like SN brews, but this really didn’t do anything for me. Bad bitter hops flavor, smelled of crappy storage and skunk. May rerate and just hope that I had a bad bottle.
