Commercial Description:
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Pours golden with a slight beige head. I’m surprised I don’t smell more of the hops in the aroma, but there is a good hoppy bitter flavor.

This is the first year-round release from Sierra Nevada and wow they got it right here. Ranks right up there with the best IPAs.

Bottle (HBF2009) - shared by SaintMatty - thanks!
Fruity hops in both aroma and taste. Sticky palate. Standard American style IPA, competent, but mind-numbingly uninteresting after the first hoppy sip.

Pours a clear copper with a soapy, slightly off-white head that lasts and leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is fresh, piney, grassy, citric hops. Flavor is similar, and as it says on the bottle, perfectly balanced. Bitterness lingers a little, leaving me wanting more. Mouthfeel is nice and dense, and a little bit sticky. This is a really well made IPA. My new favorite

bottle... pours a clear amber/gold with a nice head that retains throughout the sitting. Great citrus/ hop aroma. Palate is not too over carbonated and not too harsh. nice bitter finish.

(Bottled) Clear amber with a medium, lacy head. Slightly stingy, flowery-nutty-hoppy aroma with grainy-gluey notes. Flavor is better with reasonably fresh, aromatic hops, and some bitterness in the finish. Medium body, soft carbonation. Slightly harsh, but not bad.

Bottled (HBF2009, BB 02/2010). Clear amber color, good beige head, Fresh hoppy (pine, grapefruit) aroma. Medium-bodied. Piney-grassy hoppy flavor, sweet malts. For now I think quite similar to some other SN products.
