Commercial Description:
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Bottle. Pours a nice clear amber with a decent size off-white head. Aroma of pine and grass. Flavor is of pine and citrus with an underlying sweetness that blends really well together. I really like this one from Sierra. Moves the the top end of my IPA list for sure.

nice clear orange pour, orange-y white frothy head very hoppy aroma, grapefruit, papaya, and grass floral taste, somewhat balanced malt, and not too bitter nice medium body, could have a bit more carbonation finish is long and fairly bitter good overall, though it could use some more malt to counteract the explosive hops

Pours a nearly clear pale copper with fine suspended sediment and a fluffy pitted beige head. The nose is a nice blend of citric, floral and evergreen hop notes backed by caramel malt; quite pleasant. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium-bodied and fairly slick with a solidly bitter finish and a lingering aftertaste..."want hops?" The flavor follows the nose with a nice balance between the bittering and aromatic hop contributions. Obviously leaning toward the bitter side of the flavor profile, the pale/caramel malt backbone provides enough balance that it keeps the hop notes soft and pleasant versus harsh and tongue raking. I am very happy to see SN put out a year-round IPA that resembles the level of quality that I’ve enjoyed in their season offerings. In a matter of weeks KC has seen two new, solid, quaffable IPAs (the other being Boulevard’s Single-Wide) hit the shelves, and both weigh-in at less than eight bucks a sixer. I am a happy camper. :)

What can I sa? Another fine brew by Sierra Nvada. This beer is a very good IPA that has alot going or it. the nose is that of lemon, pine, and other citrus flavors one expects to find in a west coast IPA but they are subtle. the appearance is a little cloudy with some deeper copper hues in it. the mouthfeel is a real easy drinking ipa that has a little hoppiness . This reminds me alot of the southern star PA Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 02-28-2009 03:05:03

Golden amber with a nice orange head. Powerful aroma of grass, pine, pineapple and sugar coated grapefruit. Taste is powerful and well balanced. The fruity citrus and tropical flavors do their best to stand up to the big pine and grass bitterness. A very strong and full bodied IPA. Another good one from Sierra Nevada.

Quite good, although it is still a proud American IPA. Bitterness is right on with a fresh floral nose. Citrus notes all over the place with a pleasant bitter, crisp and dry, finish. Nice new product from SN.

12oz bottle poured into an English pint. This IPA pours a beautiful bronze color with a great rocky head. The aroma is a mild botique of hops and stream water. Ummm. What a wonderfully balanced IPA! This is a great IPA, being neither too filled with hops nor watery. The finish is nice and crisp but has that great bitter memory.
