Commercial Description:
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Had this about a month ago when I broke out the grill for the first time this spring. Nose of evergreen forest, juniper, spice, flowers, and loads of citrus. Pours clear copper with a fully lasting white rocky head that is stiff and had great lace. The brew has a balanced start with a moderately acidic middle, and a pronounced bitter finish. The full body is soft and dry. Reminds me of Alpha King which is probably why it rates so high.

12oz. Resin! Smells like shoving your face into a bucket of fresh hops. Slight malt aroma comes through. Totally balanced drinking! The hops are strong in flavor and aroma but the bitterness is soft and compliments the malt. Yay beer!

Bottle. 12oz. Pours copperish amber with a half-finger, subtly off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, dry hops, yeast, and traces of fresh wheat. Medium, easy-going body with a nice, slightly heavy mouthfeel. Great finish; powerful and warming. Great IPA from Sierra Nevada.

12 oz bottle pours gold/amber, with soft head, nice lace. aroma is sweet citrus and some pine. Smooth texture , med. body, feels like a cream ale, rich hops and not to heavy on malt, nice dry hop bitterness on finish. Nice I.P.A

Bottle. Pours a golden amber with a large, foamy beige head that slowly fades. Taste is of hops, pine, grapefruit, malt, and some caramel. Is a little sweet. Similar aroma. Has a rather bitter finish that lasts a while. A pretty good IPA, but not their best one.

Amber color out of the bottle with a foamy white head. Nice hoppy nose. Sharp piney hop flavor with some grapefruit rind and caramel sweetness. Some alcohol heat. Nice IPA.

(12 ounce bottle - pint glass) Pours a amber orange color. Has a somewhat thick head that leaves to good lacing. Heavy amount of hops. The hoppy taste is also citrusy. It is all balanced with a light caramel malt character. Mouthfeel has an oily texture and a soft combination.

Poured a rich, clear copper color with a solid, off-white head and good lacing. The aroma was tons of spicy hops with lots of pine and some faint citrus. The flavor was bitter pine hops and spice with enough malt to give it balance and sweetness. Almost medium bodied on the mouthfeel, not hot or uneven. Pretty good.

I love sierra nevada and ipa’s but IMO this is the worst of the SN products and not a great IPA. The taste is bitter with bitter and more bitter and pretty strong alcohol taste. It lacks in the way of aromatic and flavoring hops. It’s still not a bad beer but I’d reach for the celebration or fresh hop ale instead.
