| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours a golden amber with a large, foamy beige head that slowly fades. Taste is of hops, pine, grapefruit, malt, and some caramel. Is a little sweet. Similar aroma. Has a rather bitter finish that lasts a while. A pretty good IPA, but not their best one. jsquire (2107), St. Marys, Ohio, USA

Sharp piney hop flavor with some grapefruit rind and caramel sweetness. Some alcohol heat. Nice IPA. radioseer (35), Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 30, 2009 (12 ounce bottle - pint glass) Pours a amber orange color. Has a somewhat thick head that leaves to good lacing. Heavy amount of hops. The hoppy taste is also citrusy. It is all balanced with a light caramel malt character. Mouthfeel has an oily texture and a soft combination. Soonah (930), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Poured a rich, clear copper color with a solid, off-white head and good lacing. The aroma was tons of spicy hops with lots of pine and some faint citrus. The flavor was bitter pine hops and spice with enough malt to give it balance and sweetness. Almost medium bodied on the mouthfeel, not hot or uneven. Pretty good. rohash (39), New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 29, 2009 I love sierra nevada and ipa’s but IMO this is the worst of the SN products and not a great IPA. The taste is bitter with bitter and more bitter and pretty strong alcohol taste. It lacks in the way of aromatic and flavoring hops. It’s still not a bad beer but I’d reach for the celebration or fresh hop ale instead. JamesD (197), Centreville, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 29, 2009 This beer is really outstanding. I’m not a fan of IPA’s that use far too much hops and make it taste like you’re chewing on hop leaves, but this is perfect. A nice, spicy hop aroma with a flowery hop and bready flavor. The nose is a little piny, and the flavor has hints of citrus and pungent flowers. A truly great beer, and it would be a great intro to IPA’s for the uninitiated. tlind2 (604), Helsinki, Finland

Sweet woody aroma with hints of fruit. Smooth hoppy flavor with a hint of spices. Medium body, medium-light carbonation. BeerBlitz (49), Roslyn, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 24, 2009 12 oz. bottle; Not as assertive as the description might lead one to believe; nice color and appearance, but mild aroma; bittering hops apparent in the taste but held at bay by a strong malt presence; light bodied; decent IPA; nice finish
