TeamTrappist (365), jericho, New York, USA Sep 6, 2008 Bottle. Poured a cloudy amber. The nose was of typical belgian yeast. Very interesting flavors. Some hop notes, a bit of ginger maybe, but the malt backbone is what I really loved about this beer. Just a delicious balance of flavors, with nice carbonation. Excellent beer. 00cobraR (1096), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Sep 5, 2008 a very nice brew. pours out a darker gold color wtih a large white head. aroma was rather fruity with quite a bit of yeast to it as to be expected. flavor was was fruity and sweet. this was a very smooth brew with a bitter finish. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 4, 2008 Delicious and easy to drink Belgian strong. Too often this style goes overboard on the sweetness but this was perfectly balanced. Aroma was yeasty, light and fruity. Pour was a perfect medium gold with a huge 3 finger pillowy white head. Taste was delicious. Strong biting carbonation with full apricot, apple and peach (tastes like carbonated fruit cocktail juice). Aftertaste is slightly bitter and dry. Very nice. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Sep 2, 2008 Bottle 75cl. @ Amerikaner blindsmagning @ Papsoe, Bottle #28.] Unclear medium orange color with a average, fizzy, good lancing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Clear golden body with a small frothy white head. Sweet, spicy floral aroma. Spicy flavor, lots of floral and grassy notes. Medium body with moderately high carbonation. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA Aug 31, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours a nice cloudy dark orange with a huge puffy head. Incredibly lacing. Nose is tons of yeast and noticable floral hops, unusual for the style also a nice ciderlike apple aroma. Flavor like the nose is quite unique. Nice mix of USA and Belgian styles. Toasty malt up front with a strong peppery yeast note. Some strong citrus and apple notes at the end a slightly bitter hoppy finish. Complex and easy drinking despite the ABV. dmac (1419), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Aug 29, 2008 Updated: Apr 10, 2009750 ml, expensive bottle, from EZ Liquors. Pours a clear golden burnt orange with lots of visible tiny bubbles rising from the center of ny Allagash tulipy looking glass with a large frothy foamy long lasting white head. Aroma is hops, piney cat pissy citrusy hops mixed in with some yeast tropical fruit, especially rinds, lemon wheat grass, and spice. Medium to slightly thin bodied with light to average carbonation and a smooth finish. Flavor starts off with lots of citrus sourness, lemon and lemon rind, then yeast, bready grains, tropical fruits, cat piss hops, grass, and wild herbs. This beer has tons of potential and is rather nice, much like that new show How I Met Your Mother, hopefully this beer won’t go down the same road of suckiness though.
