From bottle at Lost Abbey before RBSG on 08/02/2008. Batch 2. Clear golden body with a small frothy white head. Sweet, spicy floral aroma. Spicy flavor, lots of floral and grassy notes. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.

22oz bottle. Pours a nice cloudy dark orange with a huge puffy head. Incredibly lacing. Nose is tons of yeast and noticable floral hops, unusual for the style also a nice ciderlike apple aroma. Flavor like the nose is quite unique. Nice mix of USA and Belgian styles. Toasty malt up front with a strong peppery yeast note. Some strong citrus and apple notes at the end a slightly bitter hoppy finish. Complex and easy drinking despite the ABV.

750 ml, expensive bottle, from EZ Liquors. Pours a clear golden burnt orange with lots of visible tiny bubbles rising from the center of ny Allagash tulipy looking glass with a large frothy foamy long lasting white head. Aroma is hops, piney cat pissy citrusy hops mixed in with some yeast tropical fruit, especially rinds, lemon wheat grass, and spice. Medium to slightly thin bodied with light to average carbonation and a smooth finish. Flavor starts off with lots of citrus sourness, lemon and lemon rind, then yeast, bready grains, tropical fruits, cat piss hops, grass, and wild herbs. This beer has tons of potential and is rather nice, much like that new show How I Met Your Mother, hopefully this beer won’t go down the same road of suckiness though.

Bottle. I was pretty excited to see this one in my local store - and for good reason. Pours out a nice orange color with a white head on it, lacing all the way down too. Good looking beer. Smell is fruity, sweet, yeasty, has some banana aspects and some hop notes as well. Taste is fruity and pretty hoppy to be a belgian strong. Easy to drink, fresh tasting, and smooth. A really good beer actually, and thank God it isnt hyped so I can maybe get another bottle of this.

750 shared with Austin and others at the 1702 pub in Tucson AZ. Thanks Austin. Bright yellow, no head, and unfiltered. Spicy, wheaty nose. Tart, a bit thin, funky, and spicy. Unfortunately the flavor dies on the end. I’ll try this again and not as the last beer of the night.

Pours hazy orange / copper with a minimal white head. The aroma is like a musty basement, dry butterscotch, apricots, cobwebs and caramel. Medium body with a ton of semi-soft carbonation. The flavor adds a bit more sweetness and some pepper to the aroma traits. The finish has a dry biere de garde essence. A good beer.

A Mes rate: bottle thanks to our Magic.
Bright cloudy orange with a superb thick white foam topping and awesome condition. Aroma... now that’s a BLOODY good smell. Incredibly fresh. A beautifully aromatic double serving of hops, fantastic herbs and stunning yeasty notes. Suf**kinperb aged Orval bretty notes. This is very very fine beer indeed. The flavour follows on in a similar vein to the nose and is equally adorable. Massive brett, incredible sourness, wonderfully dry and beautifully herbacious. This is really special. Drinks well below it’s strength. Perfectly balanced. It’s just brilliant. So very clear that this is brewed by an American in Belgium. I really am blown away. Awesome wooden notes in the finish too. I’m gushing I know but I really don’t care. LOVE IT!!!
