JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 24, 2008 Orange, small white rim. Citrus, orange, alcohol and fusels. Fusels again, orange, candi sugar, apricot, and yeast esters à gogo. Very slick, oily, syrupy and in the aftertase, a little hops. Well. Seems they get the same results in Belgium... desurfer (1067), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA Apr 23, 2008 Pours a mostly clear orange with a moderately bubbly head. Aroma is grassy and herbal. Flavor is tart and hoppy, with bubblegum, coriander and some estery character. Some brett in there as well. Alcohol is hardly noticeable. It’s a very enjoyable beer, with the flavors melding nicely into what I would consider a classic Belgian ale. Wonderful! DrHomolka (726), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 23, 2008 750ml. Pours a a bright, light orange color with a very compact, creamy, large white head. Aroma is nice and gentle, smooth and appetizing. Pears, apples, a slight zesty peppery quality. A little white wine characteristic, a little rubber. The funkiness from the brett is apparent slightly if you look for it but it is certainly subtle and you could mistake it for something else if you did not know the background of this beer. Perhaps that will change with time, however. Taste is bready, pretty fruity, relatively bitter for the style. A little leafy and plasticy. I haven’t had this beer before but from what I can imagine the hoppiness is now subsided and the funk is not in well enough effect and this beer is kind of in a in-between phase that makes it not that special. Not bad it just doesn’t stick out to me. bitbucket (2026), Kirkland, Washington, USA Apr 22, 2008 750, corked and baled. Pours hazy dark gold with a lacy pale yellow head. Aroma of tangerines and fruit with a touch of spice. Medium body and carbonation. Sweet peach, bread and citrus taste. Softly resin-bittered finish. Seems to leave me with a hint of perfume and funk. Interesting, but in a good way. SSSteve (2047), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 21, 2008 a hazy dark orange pour with a large fluffy white head. aroma of light citrus fruits and a touch of fresh green hops. flavor has notes of citrus(grapefruit), hops, peaches, butter and a touch of brett. light body and very refreshing. malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Apr 20, 2008 750ml first pour in Westmalle goblet. Orange with lasting orange-tinted head and lotsa lace. Hop spicy bread aroma. Honey spice citrus orange spicy hoppy finish. Medium bosy and medium carbo. Spicy and complex with a nice hop profile. jazz88 (2235), San Francisco, California, USA Apr 17, 2008 Tap @ Toronado on 4/15/08. Hazy golden orange color with little to not head.
