Bottle: Fiery Golden in color, minor haze, large rocky white head, with clumps of lacing.   Candyish nose, somewhat like unflavored Pixie Stix.   Some floral and soft citrusy notes as well.   Hmmm, on the tongue I find this one to be somewhat chalky, gritty, and quite dry.   Sweet, very much like powdery sugar sorta sweet.   Some floral aspects, and even a bit of Pine if I am not mistaken.   Slightly astringent on the backside.   Kinda reminds me of candied citrus peel, while sweet it also has this pungent sour sting.   The IPA aspect wins out, however the chalky sweetness is right behind.   Decent body, average mouthfeel.   Tiz slightly spritzy, but thats the norm for De Proef.   Not exactly sure what to make of this.   To me it comes across as a "hodgepodge" sorta beer, two styles that shouldn’t be combined.   Tiz alright, but to be honest I didn’t enjoy drinking it all that much.   Too confusing me thinks, IPA or Belgian...

Big ol bottle. This is a great choice for my 200th review!! There is a great color and aroma with this beer. Flavor starts like a good complex Belgian, but then all kinds of honey and mandarin orange start to linger. The finish is nice and clean with some hop tones. Great beer!

Bottle at NOTF ’07. Pours a hazy golden with some pretty white lacing. Nose is bretty, with some fresh golden ale style malts and a small does of American hops. Flavor balances the bretty funk and the sweetness of the base very nicely.

Draught. Called "De Proef Signature Golden". Sampled at The Stumbling Monk in Seattle on October 18, 2007. Pours a foamy white head with an orange body. Nose of tart Seville oranges, hops and wild yeast. Very good flavour and texture. Smooth, without burn and nicely balanced. Like a young Big Foot.

Big bottle from PP C-bad bottle shop. This was my second tasting after the Patron Saints party last month. Medium white head over a yellow golden nice color. Aromas tend towards sweet belgian yeast and maltwith tropical citrus and floral overtones. Pineapple, orange, lemon present themselves. On the palate smooth slightly carbonated with nil alcohol. The flavors are a wonderful mix of american hops and belgian malt yeastiness. Very good length of finish. Great beer and would love to get more.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful slightly hazy golden with lively carbonation and a nice long alsting pure white head- great lace. Aroma is a really nice balance of tons of fresh hops- american hops dont overpower, stays spicy and earthy, and then balanced with the nice doughy fresh pils malts, and just a modest amount of brett earthy funk. Light sweetness still in the flavor from some doughy malts, which may give way to more brett in the future- this bottle is still young but has nice fresh hop character, fresh dough, and good farmhouse brett- light on the palate yet full flavored. Very refreshing and easy to drink despite its high abv. This will age nicely and gain more funk and acidity.

750 mL bottle - clear gold with white head and lots of lacing on the top 1/4; aromas of yeast and sort of like apple juice; fruity flavors are slightly bitter, but fresh and smooth; an interesting brew

Bottle shared by puddintane. Yellow body with a small head. The aroma is very yeasty with some must and a hint of grassy herbs. The taste is complex, with all of the elements of the aroma, plus more of the herbal component coming on strong. Nicely done, but not my cup of tea...
