Aroma of light florals and fruity hops. Some faint Belgian spices. A sweet and overall inviting aroma. Flavor is sweet and malty with citrus, florals, and a sweet faded citrus hop element. Mellows nicely as it warms to room temp. Belgian spices and yeast play a minimal role; seems like a cross of I2PA and barleywine... Rather tasty at that! ilovedarkbeer (1333), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2009 Cloudy light brown mud puddle body with a thick effervescent head. Aroma is typical, somewhat dry, with an orange sweetness. Flavor is a bit dry and bitter up front with a caramel apple touch to it. Body is not too thick or sticky. Pretty tame overall, solid but not mindblowing. carl4beer (400), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 1, 2009 Musty without beating me over the head with siganture tartness from the Brett. Dry to the nth degree- maybe too overly hopped, but that is what a West Coast brewer will do to try to ruin everything he touches. joshwilfong (778), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 18, 2009 light golden with large white head. moderate-high carbonation. mild hop nose. malt to bitterness ratio rests slightly on the hop side with a flavor of yeasty esters followed by some hop flavor that is somewhat of resin. some alcoholic warmth adds some depth. very very nice, great belgian influenced by west coast style BrotherGrendel (581), San Diego, California, USA

Nice reddish burnt orange with a finger of long lasting eggshell colored head. Lots of lemon zest aroma, yeasty, spicy. Taste is a bit of a saison farmhouse funk, lots of lemons and other citrus, grassy hops and light yeasty spices. Fantastic and reminds me of Orval with some more lemon zest.
