| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 30, 2008 Updated: Sep 9, 2008Big thanks to Tim for this one. Aroma is citrus, honey, candi sugar, pine, and light fruits. Light malt profile, well attenuated, lots of nice hops flavor. Tommy likey.
Additional notes I bought a couple of bottles of this. The one I am drinking currently fits the above description pretty well. There is maybe a touch of earthiness from the brett, but not much more than that. I don’t get the "decidely American Hopping additions" either, though the hops flavor and bitterness are just fine. I’ll age the other botlte a while, but even if no more brett character is evident, this is still a pretty nice beer. Score stays the same. kujo9 (1078), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 11, 2008 750 ml bottle 11/20/07: Light amber w/a lasting medium cream colored head; hazy. Fruity, floral, w/ a bit of orange citrus, herbal and earthy hop, a touch of brett barnyardy aromas w/ grainy pils malt and some lightly corn DMS. Peppery spicy yeast, and it seems a bit woody, and has some hints of dried apricot aromas. Flavor is fruity w/a hint of citrusy orange up front. Well balanced throughout, but dries out in the finish. Bready malt, peppery yeast, and yeasty mid palate. A bit of bitterness slides into the aftertaste. Some sugary sweetness up front as well with a bit of caramel. Highly carbonated, well hidden alcohol, lighter body. Seems a bit rough around the edges for me, but nicely complex. I wonder what age will do to this beer? I may have to find out! chicagodri (1074), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 11, 2008 Wow. I split this beer with my sister, but it was great. Pours a cloudy brown with a medium off white head. Has a nice belgian yeast smell and some fruit. The hops are actually present and add a bit of bitterness. Has some nice orange peel flavor in there as well. Very smooth and a good example of the style. elihapa (1069), Honolulu, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2009 Pours orange with a big frothy white head. Body is clear. Aroma of sweet apricot, nutmeg, apple pie, and spices. Flavor starts with sweet fruit that borders on marmalade, then transitions to barnyard flavors, spiciness and fruit. Finish is mildly tart, herbally, and alcoholic. Body is full and slightly syrupy with dryness on the finish. This is a full-flavored ale to be sure, very complex and tasty. II personally think the finishing flavors could have used more acidity and brett for heightened balance. rustychiles (1068), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Pours a hazy brownish gold color with a nice foamy head. Aroma of yeast, citrus, spices, fruit and funk. Flavor is fruity, banana, spicy, bretty funk, yeast, spices, herbs and hops. Very tasty. desurfer (1068), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 23, 2008 Pours a mostly clear orange with a moderately bubbly head. Aroma is grassy and herbal. Flavor is tart and hoppy, with bubblegum, coriander and some estery character. Some brett in there as well. Alcohol is hardly noticeable. It’s a very enjoyable beer, with the flavors melding nicely into what I would consider a classic Belgian ale. Wonderful!
