| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 1, 2008 Pours hazy dark golden color with off white head. Bready yeast aroma with caramel and brett. Flavors of citrus, caramel malts and tartness of brett. Medium body with livel carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. I’d like to try this with about 6 more months on it to see how the brett flavors change. danielcurtis81 (909), San Diego, California, USA

Flavors of orange, coriander, and a bit of spice. Pretty good beer. Vertical Bacon Strips (903), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2009 More Vegas - out of the corner of my eye I see this little circle with Port Brewing in it on the bottle made me get quite excited.<BR.
Dumped out into my glass and ended up with a nice initial off white clumpy cap that didn’t last overly long, decent amount of slippery lacing and a nice clear amber brew (not clear after I shook out the sludge from the bottle!). Immediate aromas of musty yeast, pineapple, lychee, fresh and airy. On the second attempt I get freshly cut grass that was just shook out of the mower bag, mint? Lots here but I’m getting adequately buzzed and don’t care as much right now. The taste is very good and highly drinkable. Early fruit and more than usual sweetness that brings almost an orange quality to it (probably closer to apricot and melon?) Lots more funk as I go. jesus, the alc is going straight into my dome.. I taste an interesting spice that reminds me of a mild yet pungent pepper, in fact, that taste mixed in with the fruit is pretty big right now. Funk (which I keep misspelling f**k) is gaining ground. Mild floral flavours, great mix of powerful hops tossed into this brew, leather. Apricots. Strangely dry somehow, a bit of leaf I think. Now its just bluntly dull. Man, this thing is all over the place which is cool. Seems fairly thick overall, good mouth coating, an out of place bitterness that really works well, dryness and .... crap! I cannot figure out what flavour is directly tied into the dryness - I keep hitting on it over an dover again and thought I would have it figured out by now. Nice carbonation. Finishes soft, dry and with mild hops that sure leave a lasting impression on this version of a Belgian Strong. Fish? aaag. drunk. Review ends with "From Skin to Liquid" by Cannibal Corpse. Excessive scotch has weakend by alcohol tolerance. Signature Ale is well worth the money. Drink the sludge! steview (902), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 30, 2008 great! picked up at the Carlsbad PP shop: i initially gathered an aroma of spice (reminiscent of pumpkin), citrus (lemon--acidic quality), wheat, and almonds; the body is hazy, orange-straw, orange highlight, with a soapy white head that leaves little lace; the flavor hides the alcohol well, and has a more floral, less spicy quality than what the aroma initially provided; smooth and creamy; highly enjoyable though not what i expected for a "Belgian Strong Ale" because this *seemed* lighter, and *seemed* more appropriate for, well, but anyway... it’s great and more SoCal brewers need to collaborate with Europe. illidurit (895), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 4, 2008 Bottle sampled at Lost Abbey during RBSG. Pours the color of unfiltered apple juice and just as hazy. Head is soft with decent retention and nice lacing. Aroma is canned peaches with some funky brett. Flavor is yeasty with a peach syrup sweetness and a dry brett/hops finish. Alcohol is invisible. Interesting beer. GMCC2181 (880), Bear/Elkton, Delaware, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 7, 2008 Bottle shared by robert at stateline. Cloudy orange in color, decent head. Good aroma of hops and bready/yeast. Taste has alot of citrus hops in it, but still has the belgian qualities. Light texture which made it very easy to drink. I really like these hybrid beers. They should have their own catagory. Belgian IPA’s. It reminded me of Stones 080808, but not as good. Only because it wasnt that fresh. But overall a really good beer, that I would suggest to anyone. Thanks Robert for sharing. Naven (876), Poway, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 12, 2007 750 ml bottle. I have a couple of these bottles, both from Jimbowood and a couple that I have picked up around town recently. I was highly impressed with this one. Aroma, appearance, flavor and palate are almost all perfect. Yes, it’s a well hopped belgian, but I really found this to more of a triple. The IPA characteristics were there, but I didn’t find this to be the predominate characteristic. Just a nice, easy drinking Belgian ale. Taverner (870), San Ramon, California, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 26, 2008 This stuff is amazing. Barnyard funk + hoppiness - the sour flavor. Quite possibly the perrfect mix of Belgian and IPA.
