The flavour is like a good naturtrüby blond with a hint of sourness which balances well. Some yeast flavour. omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 2, 2007 Bottled. Pale golden, rich head. Buttery flowery nose. Sweet with buttery malt and some red berries. Medium bodied with spritzy, rounded mouthfeel. Low bitterness. Fairly discrete, but well balanced and with a pleasant low key attitude. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 27, 2007 Its really hard to find a good gluten free beer. this one has the best potential of something really special. The hazy grain flavor of spelt are quite apparent and give the beer a raw grain flavor. nick76 (2684), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 27, 2007 The aroma is sour and yeasty with a malt like element. The appearance is hazy gold with particles. The flavor is like the aroma with no indication that it is anything but a Belgian style ale with an odd yeast strain. The palate is OK. If you must drink beers made from alternative grains this one tastes pretty much like a regular beer. diabel (1372), Aarschot, Belgium
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 14, 2007 Bottle Clear blond body. Orange, honey, hoppy, grassy, winey (white) aroma. Quite nice flavour. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet. Not overwhelming, but a very well created beer. A beer that I could drink all day. A little bit soapy though. hopscotch (5540), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 16, 2007 Bottle... Another traditional / ancient grain brew from Silenrieux... Buckwheat last time... Murky, straw-colored ale with tons of floaties and a mid-sized, fizzy, white head. Yeasty, fruity aroma with notes of gently kilned grains, sourdough bread, dust, honey and barely-roasted nuts. Lightly sweet and fruity flavor with a suggestion of acidity and just a hint of oxidation that seems to enhance, not detract from, the beer. Medium-bodied with a skim milk mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Fruity, dry finish. Silenrieux does great things with odd grains. maeib (4768), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 21, 2007 Bottled. A hazy orange coloured ber with a thin ring of whitish bubbles. The aroma is funky with yeasty notes together with lemony peppery hops. The taste is peppery and spicy. Nicely hoppy and quite funky. Liked it. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 29, 2006 Bottle. Cork seems to be a bit aged on this one, little carbonation upon release. Pours a medium golden/straw color with a bit of haze. Decent white head after a somewhat aggressive pour, head fades a bit quickly to a ring, little lacing is left. Moderate musty/funky notes in aroma, a touch sweet and a little bit corky. Light bodied and a little thin in body. Sweetish malt with a touch of musty, moderately attenuated. Some hop bitterness towards the finish. Decent.
