Commercial Description:
SARA has a dark red-brown color, is well hopped, and spicy at the same time. It has a hearty exclusive special taste with sour undertones, accentuated by a very rich aroma, which both come from the buckwheat.

DISCLAIMER: this is the brown, organic (biologique) version of Sara. Note that all versions of Sara are organic, also if it isn’t mentioned on the bottle.

Clear brown with a small white head. Aroma of caramel and molasses, with notes of plums. Dry and spicy flavour with a touch of caramel. The The biscuit and cereal-like buckwheat flavour is there.

End of the year rate-a-thon. 750mL cork and wire poured into a large Duvel tulip. Cork pops with authority and pours with a humongous khaki colored head. It fades slowly and leaves a heck of a sticky lacing on the glass. Never fully fades and stays a cm or 2 thick, completely covering the surface. The body is a brown color with reddish tints. Aroma is a very airy Belgian yeastiness. Behind that is a liquid black bread aroma, which is earthy and slightly sweet. A dark cereal grain aspect makes up the flavor. Flavor dissipates quickly yet the carbonation is not as strong as expected. Easy drinking with a cereal, lightly sweet aftertaste. A cool beer, I guess the buckwheat comes through through the cereal aspect.

75cl bottle from Swann Avenue/Hyde Park Express (Tampa, FL). Pours a copper color with thin off-white head. Aroma is sorgum, wheat, toasted white bread, maple syrup, some notes of malt and honey. Flavor is malty with notes of wood, red grapes, wheat and yeast with some musty and slightly barnyard notes. Generally medium body with a slightly sweet finish.

A dark red/brune colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of some dark fruits like prune and raisins and caramel. The taste is sweet of fruits with bitter and a touch of sour. The aftertaste is bittersweet.

Bottle 33cl. at home.
Clear medium brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, strawberry stewed, berry acidic notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, light to bitter and light sour with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [150908]

Bottle, pours just like a coke, dark brown, very fizzy, with a brown head that fades as it settles in the glass. Aroma is of dark sugar, cinnamon, wheat, and light alcohol. Taste is light, very light bitterness, some carmel and again wheat are at the forefront, but what is with the carbonation? It’s like drinking a soda. Extremely fizzy, the beer bubbles as it touches my lips. Odd. I liked Joseph better, this isn’t terrible, just not my thing.
