Oct 23, 2006 A Mes rate: Bottle from Twickenham Beer Fest. Wheaty and malty. Very prickly in the palate. Some chocolate. The buckwheat makes it interesting but this is no show stopper.

Sep 19, 2006 Updated: Sep 2, 2007Bottle from Bier Temple, Brussels. Chocolate in colour with peaking light brown head. Buttery sweet aroma of toffee, raisins, chocolate and candied cherries with a tinge of grass. Tastes of malted bread and nuts with a mild spiciness. Light pecan bitterness at the finish. I thought it’d be quite sweet judging from the nose, but rather savory instead. Interesting combination; I enjoy being surprised every now and again. A slight sourness is present at the start - reminiscent of Flemish sours, but this dies down with time. I really like it, but couldn’t drink it everyday.

Sep 5, 2006 Hazy ruddy brown. Medium frothy light tan head. Aroma is sweet, and a bit spicy. Also lots of oranges in the aroma. The flavor is sweet up front with a citrus sourness coming through later. Medium bodied, a bit prickly. Pretty decent though not spectacular or anything like that.

Aug 25, 2006 Aroma was moderate caramel with a floral hint, and soapy scent. Notes of apples and honey as well. Beautiful murky body with small particles of average density and dark brown in color. Large frothy light brown head with good lacing. Flavor was bittersweet, average duration. Taste of apples and malt. Medium body texture was oily and flat. Overall definatly something to buy age and drink.

Aug 17, 2006 Bottle Muddy, amber body. Frothy off-white head which diminishes fully. Nose of hops, flowers, liquor, ... Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour. Very pleasant beer with some complexity.

Aug 12, 2006 Updated: Dec 21, 2008One of my favorites. Nice aromaLike many of my favorite Belgains it has an assault of various subtle flavors and an ample supply of yeasty "Floaters". The afternote has a bit to much "Bite" at times almost a hint of some of the sour ales.
I had the "organic" bottle in Belgium. I found it best paired with food as opposed to a stand alone drink. It is a wonderful and unique brew I want more

Jul 5, 2006 Excellent malty aroma. Hazy reddish-brown colour with a lasting off-white head. The flavour is spicy malt with some harsh afternotes. I could wish for some carbonation here.
