Commercial Description:
SARA has a dark red-brown color, is well hopped, and spicy at the same time. It has a hearty exclusive special taste with sour undertones, accentuated by a very rich aroma, which both come from the buckwheat.

DISCLAIMER: this is the brown, organic (biologique) version of Sara. Note that all versions of Sara are organic, also if it isn’t mentioned on the bottle.

750ml bottle. Foamy head greets you after uncorking the bottle. Certainly not over-carbonated, just nice and lively. Extremely attractive opaque brown-amber color. Deep fig-like fruitiness in the taste, with an incredibly smooth mouthfeel. Could be considered the missing link between the Farmhouse and Oud Bruin styles, as it displays a funky subtle sour taste beneath the malty smoothness. Criminally underrated, this beer is one of a kind.

One of my favorites. Nice aromaLike many of my favorite Belgains it has an assault of various subtle flavors and an ample supply of yeasty "Floaters". The afternote has a bit to much "Bite" at times almost a hint of some of the sour ales. I had the "organic" bottle in Belgium. I found it best paired with food as opposed to a stand alone drink. It is a wonderful and unique brew I want more

I needed pliers to free the cork from this 750, but when I got it, it came out without a sound. It poured with a nice creamy head and deep chestnut color. The head recedes after a bit. Delicately carbonated with a wonderful mouthfeel. Aroma is earthy with a nice balance between fruity yeast, clean spicy hops and a malty caramel and molasses richness. Flavors of above plus fruit, dried and fresh, a healthy sweetness and a very full, pleasing finish, with a bit of mineral bite (iron?) and faint sourness. This stuff is superb. I don’t actually detect the buckwheat, but this is a winner. Almost has a barleywine character.

Corked and caged bottle. It had a large sized ivory head that was foamy with fine-medium sized bubbles that completely diminished. The body was slightly carbonated and hazy with a mahogany hue. The nose was malty, sweet, spicy, some banana and clove notes as well as alcohol. The flavor of this beer was a little sour, malty, caramel and some clove. The mouthfeel was smooth and this beer's lacing was sparse. Worth a try.

750 ml corked bottle from Whole Foods. The cork popped with gigantic force. The color is turbid dark straw with a huge, creamy white head. Even my forehead oil couldn’t bring this head down to size. Aroma of cloves, hopcit, coriander. Nice aroma. The taste is spicy, with the coriander and clove at front palate, giving way to hops and citrus at mid palate and a final blast of sweet honey, spice, and citrus at the finish. Solid complexity and balance. This one is rock solid.

This was a very interesting and tasty beer. A nice bronze/orange color with a nice sized head that stays fairly thick. The aroma hits you with yeast and some earthy scents. Entirely enjoyable and I’d have to agree with 1 previous reviewer who said it reminded him of a Flemish Sour because it did have characteristics of said style. I enjoyed this very much and look forward to trying again.

750 ml bottle. Pours a rich brown with a ruby hue. Aroma is nutty, hoppy, somewhat fruity. Body is full and rich. Flavors range from light fall fruits, to somewhat of a dry wheat yeastiness, a slight citrus bite, and a sweet malty finish.
