Dull dark amber in amber in appearance with slight head. Hops predominate in the flavor, lots of oranges with some spicy pine needles. Caramel malt sweetness with a melon sort of flavor and a sour and bitter finish. The body is fairly watery on this and the finish is slighly metallic, otherwise, this would be first class. Enjoyable, and tasty, nonetheless. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2005 Amber/red with a creamy head and nice lacing. Bitter hop aromas with sweet caramel malts. Floral with some citrus; oranges or grapefruit. Bitter hops and sour grapefruit in the flavors. Hops dominate over the malts that are there though. Good, yet a little unbalanced.

Nose of grapefruit & citrus, some toasty sweet malts blend too. The flavor is hoppy! Way hoppy, step aside Mac & Jack’s. This is hoppier and more floral than most pale ales AND IPAs. Floral & clean with a rich malt body & a dry finish. GermanBrews76 (667), Eugene, Oregon, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 16, 2004 Pours amber with a tall off-white head. Great hoppiness to the aroma, even jumps out above the malt. This was one of the better ambers i’ve had due to the generous use of hops. Taste starts sweet and then the bitterness carries through with a nice hop finish. Great smooth mouthfeel and good overall balance. beerguy101 (3971), Newark, California, USA
