Siletz Black Diamond Imperial Porter

This Baltic Porter pours a deep black color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized beige foamy head. Aroma is semi-sweet chocolate and vanilla, with some smoke, piney and floral hops. A medium bodied porter. Malts are roasty malts, chocolate and coffee. Hops are citrusy and piney. A touch lactic, but in a good way. The sourness may be do to this being an older bottle and not any real fault in the beer. Anyway it sort of works, with the balance. Clean and smooth. Fruity and chocolately. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Somewhat off kilter and infected, otherwise this is a very creamy milk chocolate flavored porter, with some light roasted coffee, lots of caramel, but just hopped up and has that infected buttered popcorn diacetyl finish. Disappointing.

Pours black with a tan head. Very thick porter with a big stout roasty chocolate flavor and coffee finish. So rich and smooth, tastes like a big stout. Finish is very hoppy with a slight metallic note.

Bottle: Courtesy of wolhfs at the Schroppfy gathering. Strong malt and chocolate with a very light coffee and wood. Lightly smokey. Pours a dark brown with red hilights along the outer edges of the glass. Head is a small off-white ring. Chocolate up front with a roasty coffee and wood hop finish. Very light sourness in the finish.

Very enjoyable. Hoppy porter with a nice bite. It is good enough for an emperror, they’re not lying. It is pretty filling, and a good head makes everyone smile.

Chocolate aroma out of the bottle with some toffee. Thin pour but nice deep black in a appearance. Flavor is all around the map with caramel malts, bitter chocolate and velvet cake. Some citric hops make their presence felt. Slightly metallic flavor - similar to the amber. Not the alcohol presence as some Imperial Porters. Nice, but not exceptional.

Best Siletz offering I’ve had so far. Pours black, smells of coffee, roasted malt, toffee, nuts and hops. Flavor is kinda like licking a barbeque, which is not always a bad thing. Palate is quite full. Good stuff, pick it up.

Poured a dark, dark brown with red at the edges with an off white head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate and caramel. Tastes of chocolates, dark fruits and roasted malts.
