Commercial Description:
Siletz BLACK DIAMOND IMPERIAL PORTER is a rich malty porter with more of everything. A generous blend of malted barley creates a veritable orgy of roasted and choclate malt flavor, balanced with the finest NW hops. A beer fit to serve an Emperor. Too smooth and choclatey for a stout, too big for a mere porter...Serve with your favorite bold entrees or just relax and enjoy it alone.

Poured a reddish brown, mahogany color with a small, tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, nuts, and light roast. Taste of chocolate, raisins, very roasty, and a trace of alcohol. Thanks hopdog!

Almost opaque ruby body topped by a rocky collapsing tan head. Glass lace is excelent. The aroma is light wet cardboard, light fruit, and surprisingly little roasted malt character. The flavor is a bit better but not great. Tons of unpleasant alcohol all throughout, light fruit and some odd medicinal qualities. Fizzy over-carbonated mouth-feel. Clearly this guy is infected, too bad I was hoping for something better. As it is it is not horrible but the phenol notes really detract the more I drink. Bummner.

Bottle , no date or such. Poured dark brown, with a foamy light tan head. Aroma of typical porter stuff, caramel, roasted chocolate malts. Tasted almost burnt and sour. Mouth feel was alittle watered down, but not unpleasant. If only this lived up to the discription. As it warmed more bitterness and hops came foward. I would like to know the ABV on this. Thanx to beerhandy

Brown, mahogany almost. Creamy head and a string, wormy type lacing. Sweet caramel aromas with a slight vinous quality. Bitter hops and figs. Sour and vinous flavor that is slightly oaky. Bitter hops and rich caramel with some alcohol. Funky, maybe it’s barrel aged.

Sampled draught at Siletz Roadhouse, Siletz
Dark tawny, near black, extremely retentive thick creamy tan head. Nose of dark roasted patent along with an above average dose of alcohol, very fruity too. Kinda funky flavor with a sharp astringency & some lighter hop bitterness, not bad.

Pours almost black with a creamy head and tight lacing. Huge chocolate aroma. Very smooth cocoa power and burnt chocolate flavors. Creamy texture. Very warming. I think this would age well. Thanks Doug.

on tap in beautiful siletz. pretty near black, beige head, roasted plum, whipped cream and asphalt aroma, some cocoa powder and raisin toast flavour and decent lightly burnt bitter finish. full-bodied and classy, i’m curious as to how strong it actually was
