Commercial Description:
Siletz BLACK DIAMOND IMPERIAL PORTER is a rich malty porter with more of everything. A generous blend of malted barley creates a veritable orgy of roasted and choclate malt flavor, balanced with the finest NW hops. A beer fit to serve an Emperor. Too smooth and choclatey for a stout, too big for a mere porter...Serve with your favorite bold entrees or just relax and enjoy it alone.

Small tan head atop a black body that hints of red. Aroma is medium sweet, fruity (berry, plum), roasty, chocolate. Taste is roasty, some chocolate and some berry, finishing roasty and grapefruit bitter. Medium-full, smooth body, seems closer to a stout than a porter. Very enjoyable beer.

Poured a dark, dark brown with red at the edges with an off white head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate and caramel. Tastes of chocolates, dark fruits and roasted malts.

Tap@Siletz Brewpub. I don’t think these guys know how to brew bad beer, becuase this was another gem. Deep brown in colour. Toasty caramel and some light chocolate to start, with good length and acidity on the finish, full bodied, with a bit of guts, i really liked this beer.

Pours a thick rich dark brown with a huge puffy tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, lightly roasted malt and a hint of tartness. Starts semi-sweet, with some dark fruitiness before turning quite sour and acidic. Mild chocolate and lingering roasted malt finish once the tartness subsides. Would make for a real nice beer were it not so sour. Thanks anyway to TChrome for the chance to try this!

Pours dark bown with a thin tan head. Smells of roasted malt but little else. Tastes thin and watery with a ton of bitterness and some sweet qualities, but not nearly enough to balance out the bitterness. No fruit hints to speak of. This does not taste at all like the other Baltic Porters I’ve sampled over the past 6 weeks.

Deep brown, almost black, with a creamy brown head. sharp, sweet flavor of chocolate chips, some sweet buttery malts, sweet chemical and acetone nose... like paint thinner. Syrupy, long lasting chocolate finish.

Sampled draught at Siletz Roadhouse, Siletz
Dark tawny, near black, extremely retentive thick creamy tan head. Nose of dark roasted patent along with an above average dose of alcohol, very fruity too. Kinda funky flavor with a sharp astringency & some lighter hop bitterness, not bad.
