Um...ah...gee, i guess i must have missed something, because mine was extremely bland. Malty and grainy, didn’t notice any lemony floral saaz or anything, no soft maltyness. yet everyone scores it quite high? I feel odd, like i’ve had a completely different beer or something. Well a very nice looking lager, darker than the usual ppilsner..almost orange in colour, similar to a clear hefe...nice sized pure white head.
Very hoppy aroma greets the nose..hoppy and fresh.
There is however a good accounting of the malt on the first sip nicely done offsets the dry bitter finish quite well.
Very good on the palate..a very nice drinking lager..I am beginning to love this brewery. Gromit (462), Port Orchard, Washington, USA

Pours almost like a Hefe except a darker, almost burnt color. It's very cloudy. A huge fluffy yead leaves a sheet down the side of the glass.
Scent is of Czech hops with a bit of malt; think of a really hoppy Pilsner.
Taste is complex and extremely well balanced; both sweet and bitter, almost tart. I can't put my finger on anything specific, though.
Mouthfeel misses the style but is damn good. I'd like to mark it higher I can't in good conscience. The carbonation dies too soon but it's still crisp. Overall this is awesome if not perfectly to style, and definately worth seeking out.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2004 Big white rolling head, lumpy and sticky. somewhat hazy, nice tiny bubbles. Pretty potent nose: dry cornflake, dmso, and really saazy: spicy and floral. Hopped up a bit too much, but an intense czech lager TChrome (1299), Bedford, Texas, USA

Apperance is a not terribly attractive cloudy yellow with a very big bubbly egg white head. The flavor is nicely hoppy with a twinge of spice in the finish. Excellent for the style. Extremely pleasant smooth malt flavor against a smooth yet cleansing bitterness. Truly fine, life affirming beer! Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA

Quintessential lager nose malt, citrus crisp, clean and fresh with the start mostly malt, somewhat sweet, the top skimpy in feel, the finish modest on the carbonation, the hops pleasant in their spicy bite and the aftertaste dry and long lasting. What can I say a “Lager is a Lager is a Lager”!

They did not have it on tap at the brewpub, so I bought a bottle and had it at the bar instead. Golden yellow. A rich full lager. A nice malty body and flavor to compliment the hops. A fine lager for any day.
