Dark for a barley wine a wisp of a tan head. Musky (as in Vagina), tart caramel smell. Thin in body and rather sour in flavor with a bitter multi-vitamin thing going. Not good but the aroma keeps me drinking.

Really nothing too special- a bit of metallic twang followed by some heavy raosted malt. The alcohol is just the perfect amount.

From the bottle this pours mahogany with a light tan head. Very sweet barleywine aroma with a nice caramel warmth smell and light hopping. The hops are much more obvious in the flavor than aroma, big bitter finish used to offset the sweetness up front. Seemed a bit thin on the palate, but very drinkable. Still young with some alcohol showing in the finish, but not bad for a new release.

Pours dark brown with thin white head. Smells like sweet barley and tastes similar. NIce long sweet aftertaste but both aftertaste and main taste are rather uncomplex.

Bottle: Ruby, burnt caramel highlights, thin beige head, spotty lacing.   Sourish citric aroma, somewhat bready, candyish... bizarre.   Unsweetened citrus based bitterness, orange peel with a bit of pine needle twang.   Sublte malts, too subtle.   Moderate palate, verging on the thin side.   Finishes clean however, but not what I would have expected for a Barley Wine.   Probably my least favorite offering from an otherwise good brewery.   Seems to be basically a strong Pale Ale with a HUGE bitter citrus twang.   Thanks batkins for getting me this rare offering.

Murky brown. Funky, dirty feet aroma. Dusty brown sugar. Very citric. Somewhat acidic. Rather hot alcohol. Zingy sourness. Sour, bitter, funky and peculiar.

Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, fully diminishing. Body is hazy dark amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, cookie), lightly hoppy (apricot, resin), lightly yeasty (sweat, dough). Flavor is heavily sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Yikes. Pretty poor stuff...bland aroma, kinda dirty tasting. Blah.
