Flavor is kind of disappointing, aroma is full of graham crackers, taste is reminiscent of eating smores. Rich chocolate, and marshmallow, and some oatmeal, with just a hint of roasted coffee, nice and creamy. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 30, 2005 Draught pint at Redbones, 12/22/05. Deep brown colored stout, with tan and beige tones on the edges and just a hint of light garnet. After a minute or so, the beer settles out clear, though not terribly so. Foamy beige head is fairly well-retained but creates little lacing. Aroma boasts a lightly coffee grind and berry skin dryness, followed quickly by a dose of kahlua and cream. Light hints of butterscotch and an easygoing chocolate covered roasted peanuts. With more breathing, the vinousness/berry skins becomes minimal and the creamy sweet coffee creme liqueur and butterscotch takes over. The flavor is rich with butterscotch, caramel and milk chocolate, all converging to come off as quite complex and full of what you would expect for a sweet stout. I get little/no lactic dryness, and again only minimal berry/vinous notes. The dryness/fruitiness only comes out on the very end, when the slightly overcarbonated texture allows for this dryness to slip in amongst the creamy chocolate, mocha and buttercream. Well balanced, with a smooth texture, at times too bubbly, as mentioned above. Alcohol not apparent, and surpringly not very yeasty, as this brewery is usually replete with plenty of chewy, drying, tart-like yeast (but I guess that’s more for their lagers). Lots of burnt flavors and very chewy texture. Rich but not overpowering. Would definitely order again. DrunkenWeasel (218), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 15, 2005 Pours pitch black with a medium tan head to it. Smells like chocolate coffee very strongly and nicely. Tastes like chocolate and coffee as well not enough complexity though. Oatmeal is hidden too much. Nice sweet aftertaste though, could be better could be worse. fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA

Coffee malt aroma that reminds me of a cold winter morning with coffee breing. Sour coffee flavor with some sweet notes. Medium palate with sweet finish. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 15, 2005 Opaque brown appearance, decent head formation. Fruity berry, charcoal aroma. Medium bodied witch charcoal, dark chocolate flavors. Very bitter grapefruit second half, fair bite. Very west coast twist for sure. Complex but some might also call it a clusterfuck. weeare138 (936), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA

Appears black with a tan head and lots of sticky lacing.
Smell is sweet chocolate, caramel, and cream.
Taste is sweet, sour, and bitter coffee grounds & cocoa powder.
Mouthfeel is slightly sour, bitter, semi-dry.
Drinkability is cloying and detracting from the great beer this could be.
