20061216 Lots of citrusy hops throughout mingling with solid roastiness and an astringent finish. Clean and drinkable.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Pours black and opaque with a beige head. Lightly burned coffeeish aroma. Medium body with burned, malty accents, a little ashy - perhaps even tar - and a bitter - dry as a bone - finish. Has a vague underlying acidity - from the malt? 190408

Blind tasting at Papsoes place, another great session, thanks Henrik! Beer #4: Pours dark brown to black with a lacing chocolate brown head. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Flavour is light acidic to mild sourish. Dry roasted malt base with a nice acidic touch. Smooth chocolate and vague coffee note following. Dry roasted finish. Seems to a have a little off flavour initially that could be a mild infection, yet it goes quickly away and is replaced by a more roasted acidic note.

# 4 Bottle. [Papsoe’s great blind tasting, thanks Henrik!] Average creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Good display of lacework. Pitch black color. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, light bitter chocolate, hint of berries. Over the palate came strong burned malty notes, coffee and bitter chocolate. Hint of sourness. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry alcoholic texture. Moderated sweet and bitter flavor with a hint of acidic. Heavy roasted malty ascend that lingers. 8-4-7-4-15 = 3.8 19-04-2008

12oz bottle-pours a retaining light brown head and black color. Aroma is dark malt-molasses/licorice/anise, secondary hops backbone with some acidity, dark fruit. Taste is dark malt, acidic/earthy hops bite, then coffee, some dark fruit. OK carbonation. Thanks decaturstevo for sharing.
