Decent drinkable stout! ChainGangGuy (2592), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Mar 28, 2008 Appearance: Pours a black body with a foamy, beige head.
Smell: Roasted dark malts, hints of oats but what you really get pummelled with is a foul-smelling sourness.
Taste: Ugh, what a fiasco! It’s nothing but head-shaking displeasure as any proper malt or hop character is ruined by that tart sourness. This might actually be decent if they’d ever kick that bottling infection. Oh well!
Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: I have yet to come across a Siletz bottle that wasn’t tainted with infection. Shame on you, Siletz! shp555 (1690), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Feb 21, 2008 Bottle: This has been hiding in my fridge for a while. Pours a dark brown with a small quickly dissapating coffee tan head. Aroma, chocolate and some oats, coffee, and a fruity sweetness. Flavor, roasted notes, and coffee up front, leading to a smooth but oddly acidic/metallic finish, that stays with you for the longest time. The initial flavor is fine, but the finish is just severely off putting. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2008 22 oz. bottle courtesy of kenb. Pours black with a huge frothy beige head that leaves significant lacing. The problem was that this was a gusher that didn’t stop. Once I was able to analyze the rest, the aroma was roasted malts, burnt coffee, grapefruit, and semi sweet chocolate. The flavor was more roasted malts, slight amount of coffee, semi sweet oatmeal cereal, and a biterness that accompanies the mild grapefruit flavors. Smooth drinking beer. I was a little turned off by the gusher. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA

Poured black with some highlights on the edges, thin brown head. strong roasted malt aroma that’s seems like it has some dairy character. Strong coffee flavors with some cookie-like malt and a beefy aftertaste. Very creamy and full-bodied.
