The malts blend well with the citrus and bitterness. Grapefruit starts out the flavors with some bitter and floral hops. Caramel and hints of roast. Finishes floral and bitter.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2005 Sampled draught at Siletz Roadhouse, Siletz Yellow/orange color, no head, sticky lacing. Nose of light hops, much less pronounced than even the amber. The hop flavor & bitterness are however hiding in the taste. Nice complex finish & some herbal qualities, eh. brewshthereen (316), Oregon, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 6, 2005 Poures a watery orange with dish soap suds for a head. Light aroma of dry hops with some sour notes. Tart and dry, bitter flavors. Watery, thin mouthfeel. There are no malts to balance this out, just harsh and bitter. Not a real good drinking experience. I have had several Siletz brews and I haven’t been impressed with any of them. I think I should just give up. hopdog (5612), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 30, 2005 Poured an amber color with a huge (4.5 finger) white head. Aromas and tastes of flowers and citrus. Oranges in the tastes. As hoppy as the beer smelled, I thought it would be a little more bitter. Thinner body. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 7, 2004 Updated: Dec 9, 2004(22 oz bottle, $3.20) Well, this is a beer for hopheads for sure, but while I enjoy hops in my beers, I think this beer is excessively bitter without anything to balance it out. This is not the strong, hoppy bitterness that I find enjoyable, but instead is just acutely bitter like chewing on a chunk of grapefruit rind. In other words, this isn’t hoppy, just bitter. There is also a fairly strong soapiness up front that fades away by the finish. The nose features aromas of fruity sweetness and fresh hops, but that stands in stark contrast to the wincing bitterness of the flavor. Even after several sips with the bitterness assaulting my palate, I still get very little in the way of malt, fruit or sweetness. The palate is very clean in the finish, which should be pretty obvious to the readers of this review, but the bitterness is harsh and unpleasant on the palate. Bright golden orange color and fairly cloudy. A huge, off-white head erupts during the pour and takes many minutes to settle down, and that’s in part because of the plentiful, quickly-rising carbonation bubbles giving their aid to the cause. Lots of chunky pieces of foam stick to the glass. Looks pretty, smells nice, but the strongly bitter flavor is poorly balanced. Not my kind of beer. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 19, 2004 2004 draught. Deep golden yellow with some light red hints. Small white head. Aroma of light yeast, soap, floral hops, light grapefruit and slight malt. Flavor is. . .very off. It has a good enough bitterness up front, with ample malt, but then halfway through and lingering in to the finish and beyond is a strange dirty, stale/spoiled flavor. I think mjames is the only one else that experienced, or at least reported these similar flavors. It’s definitely lactic, like spoiled milk. I don’t know, maybe it goes bad easily?? Regardless, it didnt taste good. The body was unharmed though, it had a solid medium body. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 22, 2004 Cloudy copper color with small floating particles and a medium - large rocky ivory head that doesn’t fade away. Mild in the nose with hops dominating and some spice. Smooth and almost creamy with spice and hops throughout and a medium lingering bitterness in the finish.
