Commercial Description:
Excessively Extreme! Our India Pale Ale is a robust, deep golden ale with a distinctive crisp bitterness provided by three different hop varieties. The floral hop aroma is provided by East Kent Goldings. This beer is not intended for the faint at heart. Excellent with grilled fish or some of your favorite mild cheeses.

A cloudy tan golden tan pour. A strnge aroma of hard cider woith not hint of hops. A hard hop bite in the flavor without alot of malt. A lite carboantion and thin paltate. A beer that must be past his prime. Not very good. If you go to a tasting someone must bring the best beer and someone must biring the worst:)

Thanks to decaturstevo for sharing this bottle with us at the Tennessee Spring(ish) Tasting! Once we got this one under control from gushing all over the table it poured amber with a white head that left light lacing. The aroma is sweet with fruits. Fruits also in the flavor with apple mainly standing out. Medium body.

Bottle shared by decaturstevo at the Tennessee Spring(ish) Tasting held in Knoxville, TN on 3/10/2007. Thanks again Steve... We nearly lost this beer when the cap was popped and it immediately started gushing out everywhere! "Excessively extreme" is an understatemend when desribing the carbonation! Needless to say, Siletz Paddle Me IPA is aggressively carbonated and has a MASSIVE creamy beige head that leaves lots of lacing. The color of the beer is a cloudy and murky orange color. The aroma is similar to that of apple juice and the flavor was reminiscent of apple cider. There is a light caramel and fruity maltiness underneath as well. This beer only had a mild floral bitterness accompanied by a hint of something sweet in the finish (pineapple?). Paddle Me IPA is an interesting beer that is worth trying again...

Bottle at the Knoxville Spring(ish) tasting. Nothing like opening a gusher in a public setting. Pours hazy orange with white head. The aroma is orange zest and a little bit of crackers. The flavor is general bitterness up front, then gets lemony, then general again, then a lemon aftertaste. Interesting with the fruitiness fading in and out, but not really impressive.

Sampled at the Knoxville tasting courtesy of decaturstevo, Thanks Steve. Bright orange colored pour with a little white head. Smell is slightly hoppy and grassy. Not really much as far as taste though. Thin and watery. Highly carbonated, as when Jay opened it, the bottle blew up all over the table. Not something I would care to have again.

Ridiculously aggressinely carbonated. trust me on this. Faintly cloudy orange, Really big off-white head. Nice piney, fruity aroma. earthy, resiny hope flavor, And maybe, I don’t know, pineapple? in the finish.

Bottle opened to a loud hiss. Poured with a huge foamy/rocky off white head that took quite a while to go down and looked like fluffy clouds as it did. Sticky lacing left down the sides of the glass. Beer was a hazy golden orange. Aroma of citrus/earty hops, sweet fruits, some caramel, yeast seems to have given this one a good bit of frutiness. Also quite floral. Flavor of grapefruit, pine, dish soap and lots of hop bitterness...although kind of thin. Also very yeasty with some of the same fruitiness that I was getting in the aroma. Not sure if this was slightly infected, they over pitched the yeast or they just used an odd yeast I’m not used to but something seemed to be "different" and with the level of carbonation going on... Overall still a solid flavor and aroma going on.

Bottle. Pours an orange-yellow with a big off white head. Aroma of vanilla, earthy hops, and some caramel malt. The flavor also held some earthy hops with some light caramel malt. Medium body with a floral-hop element that seems to last though the finish.
