| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2006 An aroma of malt with citrus hop. A head that overflows, and eventually leaves lacing. This must be unpasteurized. The color of ripe apricot. Thick mouthfeel. Dry. How does it start? It’s an explosion of flavors. Malt and hop dance, and in the end there is citrus and bitter. Some Siletz brews end a bit sour, but not this one. An IPA, not to be confused with a wannabee double IPA. It is what it is, and it’s very good. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 8, 2006 Updated: Aug 11, 200622 oz bottle. Clear amber color. Very large bubbly head that sticks around and leaves a lot of lace. Not much smell, perhaps some sour lemon. Very well-done hoppy taste, but bitter. Medium body.
Balanced finish that lingers just the right amount of time, but is a bit too bitter for my liking. For those who like extremley hopped IPA’s this is a good one for you. dwedin (238), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 27, 2006 Dark orange with huge white head. Grassy spruce aromas. Huge hop flavors with really smooth bitterness. Not a lot of malt body balance. Pretty good but missing body. blueduk (118), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 16, 2006 Pours hazy orange with nice white foamy head which leaves good lacing. The aromas begin with a sharp hoppiness: flowers and herbs and some lemony citrus. Mixed among the hop aromas are some sweet malty notes, particularly caramel and dark nuts.
In the mouth the beer is quite bitter, and this appears to be its defining characteristic ("not intended for the faint of heart"). Full-bodied and dry. As it warms, the malts begin to penetrate the bitterness at the front of the mouth. Caramel and cookies. But still very bitter. Took me a LONG time to finish the bomber. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 25, 2006 22oz bommer. An aroma of zesty soap but not offencive. Hazy gold body and pour was little difficult. Big head had to stop few times during pour to let head settle. Ocean foam head and sticky lacing. Sweet candy citrus juice flavor gets little syrupy duning second glass from bottle and adds texture. Bittersweet dry aftertaste that isn’t all bad. Intriging brew. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 27, 2006 From a impressive looking 22oz. brown bomber bottle with a blurb about the IPA on the back, no bottled/freshness date.
Made a good appearance, poured a hazy orange hued copper with a rocky, foamy beige and white head that settled into a sticky foamy lacing, good carbonation.
Had a bubblegum spruce fruity, floral and sweet malty nose with a touch of nuttiness at the edges.
A crisp, carbonated textured, smooth light bodied mouth feel, average drinkability overall.
Sweet spicy hops taste at first, followed by a bubblegum-like spruce fruitiness, a little earthy bitterness as well, the bitterness is textured on the tongue, but the carbonation makes it unbalanced tasting, a buried sweet maltiness with a hidden butteriness and a dry, sweet, spruce fruity finish.
An o.k. AIPA from Siletz, but not something I would be a regular buyer of, nice looking bottle though.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 4, 2006 Bottle courtesy of wohlfs. Hazy copper/amber in color, nice frothy off-white head fades to thick film quickly.
Very sweet aroma up front, combination of fruit (orange, apple and faint grapefruit), with tons of caramel malt. Flavor is again tons of caramel malt up front, with some orange zest and faint grapefruit towards the finish. Turns to a very harsh, citric bitterness, not it a good way. Finish really kills the score for me. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 25, 2006 A very drinkable yet somehow very forgettable IPA. This beer never seems to balance out even when it warms up to proper temperature. I did not think this was as hoppy as the label tells you to believe. The malt character was nice and slightly sweet and the hops were quite bitter and that never went away till it warmed and then it became quite grassy and slightly buttery. Unbalanced.
