Commercial Description:
Excessively Extreme! Our India Pale Ale is a robust, deep golden ale with a distinctive crisp bitterness provided by three different hop varieties. The floral hop aroma is provided by East Kent Goldings. This beer is not intended for the faint at heart. Excellent with grilled fish or some of your favorite mild cheeses.

I love the name and the beer. A very good IPA in the west coast hoppy tradition. Siletz is a very good brewery all of their stuff I have had is good.

Bottle. A little hazy amber in colour. Pretty thick off-white head. Aroma is floral from the hops. Taste is very hoppy and a very bitter aftertaste. Visit the brewery this summer and wish i could get hold of more of this beer.

Copper color with off white thick head. Aromas of grapefruit and orange. Very hoppy through out, with a very bitter finish. Wish it had more malt for my taste. Seemed a little unbalanced.

Bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy golden orange with a thick, medium beige head. Aroma is lightly floral. Flavor is mostly pale malt with very high level of bitter citric hops - not much else. No sweetness really, harsh grapefruit rind bitter finish. Medium body with a smooth texture and lively carbonation. Not much lacing, but good head retention. Overall, disappointing, needs more malt character and sweetness to back up the harsh bitterness. Could also use better aroma hops.

I tried this before and kind of liked it, so I thought I’d try it again for some serious analysis. It’s not excessively extreme (see ruination ipa!!!) nor did it make me faint at heart (see arrogant bastard). Cool screen graphics for sure. Looks like it should taste better. Cloudy orange/amber color, adequate head with some lacing. Watery mouth feel. Sharp grass on the tongue. I’d say it has more of an IPA taste than Redhook or Pyramid. Not as good as Woodstock or Quail Springs.

Light golden brown color with a very thin white head. Aroma is of cardboard, berries and some grassy hops. Metallic flavors, grass and a light tartness. This one really isn’t doing it for me.
