Yet another sour, nasty, infected bottle of beer from Siletz. I’m keeping track. I’ve purchased 14 bottles of various Siletz beer and 11 have been infected.
05-Oct-05 (22 oz bottle: $3.55 at Liquid Solutions in Tigard OR) Sadly, this is a mildly infected bottle. It tastes fairly sour, like grapefruit juice, but the malts aren’t able to break through. The nose is lightly malty and fruity, but the sourness easily matches those aromas. The body seems pretty light, but the sourness makes it hard to judge. Brick red in color, and quite cloudy, but I can still make out the army of carbonation bubbles rising swiftly through the beer. Tall, light-tan head retains a creamy, quarter-inch layer, and leaves dense patches of foam on the glass. Hopefully I’ll be able to get another bottle of this someday. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 14, 2006 This was really disappointing. Pours a really clear amberish ruby color with alot of lively carbonation and a fizzy soda head. Sweet matls dominate the nose, lots of bready yeastiness, with some fruits and and just a bit of a bitter hop bite in the finish. Not much going on here. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
