| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 18, 2005 From the bottle this pours a slightly cloudy amber with a off-white head. Very green hop aroma with a light maltiness to back it up. Starts with a quick sweetness, but tastes a bit thin bodied up front, finishing bitter and hoppy. Other than a touch of diacetyl and a thin palate this is a nice beer. 5000 (2600), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 18, 2005 Bottle: Deep amber, hazy, moderate off-white head, nice lacing, lively carbonation. Sour nose, a bit astringent. Much the same on the tongue, lactic like sourness dominates but isn’t overly brutal. Noticable hop bitterness but unfortunately the sourness covers it up. Not sure if this is what is intended, but I think this deserves a re-rate. Finishes sour and watery. Bottle isn’t old at all tho... Hmmm... Thanks Bill for the sample! I am thinking I definitely need to revist, albeit a few others noted the same characteristics as me.

Sour grapes or apples. The flavors follow suit with bitter hops, caramel and a touch of tartness. It does finish leaving a slightly sour note in the mouth though.

mmmm an odd beer all round from the very nice and dare i say sexy screen print label on the bomber..to the taste.
A very nice beer to look at in the glass, amber with a nice sized tan head, attractive carbonation.
the smell is very malty and buttery for some reason this is not unpleasant but intrigueing.
Taste again i get some nice malt then this buttery popcorn flavour which might throw some off..but I like it..after that there is a slight bitterness..that holds on in the throat for a few secs.
Pretty smooth on the palate.
An odd beer..but I liked it.
