Commercial Description:
A truly unique beer made from the finest Northwest barley malts and Spruce tips. We use a small amount of hops for bittering and all the rest of the flavor comes from tender, new-growth Sitka spruce tips. Amazingly fruity and full bodied!

Wierd beer. Sweet fruity, almost syrupy aroma. Tastes like a pine forest. Pretty flat, no head no lacing. Very interesting beer. Definitely different.

Hmmmm. My bottle was pretty sourish. And a little bit piney. Quality control problems, perhaps. I notice three prior raters have mentioned sourness, so I’m not entirely sure my Spruce Ale has gone bad.

Very sweet pine and spruce nose - overpowering, hazy ice-tea color, low tight head. Tastes like cleaning fluid with some blueberry added. Scratchy and gritty texture. Odd varied profile and not good overall.

Nice beer, light and sweet with lots of spruce in both the aroma and flavour. Earthy notes at the finish.

22 oz bomber. Dark brown reddish tinted with a thin white head. Aroma is pretty intense, brown sugar, spruce, light diacetyl in the nose. Flavour is intensely fruity with notes of cherry and blackberry with spruce and a sweet malty finish. A well-crafted and interesting brew.

Muddy light brown with golden-amber highlights. Sweet sprucey notes with hints of earthy malt. The palate is sweet, sprucey/bubblegummy, with hints of caramelly, earthy malts. A little heavy and malty - I dig lighter, more vibrant spruce ales.

Lots of carbonation with a light hazy auburn color, thick creamy off-white head. Nose of grass & pine, light hops & crystal malt. The flavor is spicy with some nice sweet piney tang. Finishes even tangier & spicy, kinda dry.

Hazy muddy brown color, no head.Sweet malt and caramel nose. Detergent spruce and hops taste. Weird!
