| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 23, 2004 Dark orange, brown almost. Sweet spicy tree sap, apples, bread and spiced hops with some orange peel in the nose... maybe something resembling ginger too. Sweet everywhere, with a definite presence of the spruce... interesting, but with some unwanted nail-polish qualities. JohnC (2279), Mission Viejo, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 20, 2004 Deep amber with a little haze. Pretty nice texture; medium bodied and very smooth. Had a curious fruitiness about it (apple and maybe a little lemon). Kind of reminded me of Pez candy for some reason. Malts had a mild caramel sweetness, but they were very subdued, hidden behind a sweet ’n’ sour thing going on. Very mild bitterness from the small amount of bittering hops. Spruce tips made for an interesting ingredient. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
